Gr 6-8-Theodore Boone is being stalked. His lawyer parents are involved in a high-profile case. On the last day of the trial, Theo discovers that his locker has been broken into. Later that day, one of his bike tires is slashed. As if things couldn't get any worse, the 13-year-old becomes the main suspect after a local store is robbed and computers are found in his locker. With the help of his uncle, Theo uses his investigative skills to determine who is behind these crimes. This third book (Dutton, 2012) in John Grisham's series is suspenseful and sprinkled with humor, but at times the text sounds more like a lesson in the practice of law. The characters are endearing, and listeners will cheer for Theo. Narrator Richard Thomas does a wonderful job of engaging listeners throughout, using intonation to create emotions and suspense. Although part of the series, this title can stand alone and would be a good choice for middle school boys who enjoy mysteries.-Lyn Gebhard, Sparta Public Library, NJα(c) Copyright 2011.
