Shoulder Abduction 1. Stand on TheraBand Resistance Band. 2. Begin with arm at side, elbow straight, holding elastic with palm forward. 3. Raise arm upward, out to side, and over head. 4. Slowly return to starting position.	Elbow Kick Back 1. Hold elastic in hand of involved arm. 2. Place one end of elastic under opposite foot. 3. Slightly bend hips and support upper body with other arm (as shown). 4. Pull up on elastic, raising elbow to shoulder height. 5. Extend elbow backward, contracting triceps. 6. Slowly return to start position and repeat.	Side Bend 1. Stand holding elastic in right hand, right foot securing other end of elastic as shown. 2. Bend to left, keeping elbow straight. 3. Slowly return to start position and repeat. 4. Repeat sets with other side.

Deadlift 1. Stand in middle of band with both feet. 2. Squat down, grasp ends of tubing in hands, and take up slack. 3. Keep elbows and back straight and extend hips to slowly return from the squat to an upright position.	Upright Row 1. Stand on elastic. 2. Grasp elastic in both hands in front of hips, elbows straight. 3. Lift upward toward chin, bending elbows. 4. Keep hands close to chest. 5. Slowly lower and repeat.	Reverse Flies 1. Grasp elastic in both hands, elbows straight, as shown. 2. Keeping arms straight, move arms out away from each other, out to sides. 3. Slowly return to start position.

If you want to know what the resistances of each colour are:

Yellow=1.8 lbs. (LIGHT)
Red=2.7 lbs. (MEDIUM)
Green=3.1 lbs. (HEAVY)
Blue=4.5 lbs. (EXTRA HEAVY)
Black=4.9 lbs. (SPECIAL HEAVY)
Silver=8.6 lbs. (SUPER HEAVY)

I was unaware of the various weights and they're out of order. Just so others know. The weights correspond to lbs. of force/100% elongation.

Solid Product

These are great. Just be aware that this is the bulk length so you have to cut your own loops and tie them yourself. I like that though because I can use different lengths for different types of workouts. The blue seems just right to complement my relatively tough strength workouts.

Good resistance

This resistance band is exactly what I was looking for! I have the Denise Austin: Ultimate Metabolism Boosting Workout DVD, and the resistance band that came with it snapped. This band is very similar to the one I was trying to replace. It's thick, not flimsy, and has ideal resistance.

This is a great product. I have known about thera-band for a long time. I had been told about their effectiveness by exercise and physical therapy instructors at my weight management classes, who are women for the most part. I am a male and did not want to believe you could actually do serious exercise with what I thought of as little more than rubber bands. As part of my weight management class, I had to take part in a demonstration of how to use thera-bands in an exercise program.
I was convinced enough to buy my own thera-bands. I am now a thera-band fan. I use my thera-band every other day in the privacy of my own home. I have always hated slogging to the gym two or three times a week. If I missed two or three days of exercise, it Often then became two or thee weeks or longer before I got back to to the gym. I believe I have found an effective and enjoyable way to exercise on a regular basis. Yea! thera-band.

Green band

I ordered 2 of the green Thera-Band October 16, 2012 and they arrived 3 days later on October 19.

Green is labeled as heavy, but I think it is more like a medium resistance (for men anyway). This feels nice and comfortable to use and it looks and works exactly the same as other thera-bands which you may get in a DVD package.

The band comes in a 18 feet roll (6 yards) and you just cut it to fit your needs. This flat band measures 4" across in width which is the same as other bands. (This is not rubber tubing, the round band, but it is used in the same way.)

I think that this green resistance level is a good starter band for beginners or regular exercises since you can cut it shorter to increase resistance or longer to decrease resistance.

A lot for your money

I ordered the red bands. One band (6 yards) is more than long enough to cut into four separate bands. Since most exercises that are done with bands call for one band, you've got extras! It's a great band--just like any other, you can choke up on it for more resistance or let out some for less resistance. I would recommend these bands for anyone who wants an inexpensive set of exercise bands (and then some)!

substitute for barbells?

i was told by my physician not to use heavy weights any more due to lean tissue wasting and systolic blood pressure spikes. high reps with low weights were advocated for lean tissue preservations, so i decided to sell my weights and purchase thera bands. im glad i did. after about two months with these im geting much better muscle definition. i dont have to worry about the bar collar sliding off and busting me in the skull either.

Heavy Band

Heavy duty band. Works really well. I use it as a replacement for the Wii EA Active band that I felt was too weak. Order higher than you think you need. I ended up with a bunch of lighter bands that I can't use because they were not heavy enough.
