I don't normally like quick reads. This one, however, kept me engaged. Well thought out characters - even the ones that aren't really "there," per se, are well developed in personality.
Romance and erotica is not normally my forte, mind you, so I'm not really sure if my input on that is very welcome, but I will try my best, as this was recommended to me by a friend - the sex scenes are steamy. Got me somewhat excited - a congratulations is in order, I am somewhat of a cold blooded person, haha. They weren't too frequent, they were well placed, and they didn't drag on and on. Normally when I happen upon erotica, it feels like it was written by a fourteen year old using a synonym program: "His gargantuan tumid beef tusk felt trammeled in her diminutive velvet fist of desire."
Honestly, you'll probably find that exact phrase in an erotic fanfiction somewhere. I'd stake money on it.
This book kept it refreshingly straight forward and mature. Never need to grab a dictionary. It grabs you, eats you up and throws you out sweating.
The therapy sessions seemed real enough, some solid conversation and advice - might apply some suggestions to my own love life, haha.
Overall, I would recommend this book. I felt it moved a little too fast and jumped around a bit in some places, but then again, lust is not logical, and it impairs the brain, so perhaps it is realistic. I wouldn't know. I don't pay attention when that sort of thing happens to me... I just go with the flow.
Four stars - I felt it was too short and could have been expanded. While I realize it's "Part I," I do feel it could have been expounded upon is some small way. Not sure how, but it did keep me reading to the end, and feeling disappointed on the last page - so not a bad book by any means. :)
