From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 1—Eager to explore a neighborhood haunted house, a diminutive boy grabs his butterfly net and sets out to catch a ghost. He creeps from room to room, peeking in every prime hiding spot, but can't find any spirits. However, the joke is that readers see the adorable, playful spirits that cavort, tease, and go about their ghostly business, invisible to the boy. Through a simple palette of black, white, yellow, and pink, Eeckhout uses plenty of white space, full spreads, silhouettes, and small vignettes to great advantage. Suitable for one-on-one sharing or as an early reader, this simple tale will find a welcome place in collections, not only for Halloween, but also year-round.—Marge Loch-Wouters, Menasha Public Library, WI

About the Author
Emmanuelle Eeckhout was born in 1976 in Charleroi, Belgium (She wonders if perhaps this is why she likes color in her life. Charleroi is very rainy…) She studied math and languages before switching to illustration, and published her first book in 2002. Today she lives in Nivelles, Belgium, but says she usually has her head in the clouds!

This is a very cute little book. Just about each page includes a ghost, all of whom are quite cute and funny. The story is not scary at all, but quite silly, keeping the little reader entertained as he or she watches the hero of the story miss the ghosts at each turn. It's a great book!
