What I did not expect was this thing to be so flimsy and to have been designed by someone so evil and inconsiderate THAT THEY DECIDED TO MAKE THE REAR PCI SLOT GUARD THINGS PERMANENTLY REMOVABLE. WHO DOES THAT???
Basically if you remove any of those PCI Slot covers in the back. THEY ARE OFF FOR GOOD. YOU CAN NEVER PUT THEM BACK ON. THEY ARE TACK WELDED WITH A TINY PIECE OF METAL. AND THERE IS NO WAY TO PUT THEM BACK ON. EVER. PERIOD. WHY?!?!?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?!? THERMALTAKE YOU IMBECILES!
I nearly RMA'd this thing just for that itself. And im still deciding on it. I just dont feel like having to take this all apart and re do my build... I am waiting on a new CPU heatsink that is 155m tall. And the case advertises 160mm clearance for heatsinks. If it doesn't fit. THE CASE IS GOING BACK!
I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THIS CASE AT ALL. EXTREMELY THIN AND FLIMSY. ZERO CABLE MANAGEMENT ROOM(I COULDNT EVEN FIT THE 20+4 CABLE BY ITSELF). ZERO BREATHING ROOM FOR FRONT FANS. AND YOU CANT RE INSERT THE PCI SLOT COVERS!!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS CASE ITS AWFUL I
Further, with the world moving on to SSD rather than mechanical hard drives, this case has no provisions for 2.5 inch drives.
The instructions are sparse and mostly useless. Ex: "Place hard drive in proper location". Very helpful. "use screwdriver to loosen screw". Really... What else would I use?
The rail mounting system is far more trouble than it could possibly be worth.
My bottom line is this case is not recommended
I've been working on PCs for 30 years and one important lesson I've learned is that PCs are like vacuum cleaners. The draw lots of dust inside them through the large power supply fan when the power supply is mounted with the intake fan facing down. For this reason, I no longer install power supplies with this fan facing the bottom intake vent on any PC case.
By installing the intake fan pointed toward the bottom, it sucks all the dust and hair right off the surface the PC sits on and before long, the power supply is overheating or burning up. By installing the fan facing up, the fan draws air from inside the case rather than from under it. Now I know the outside air is cooler, but with a top vented case like this one where the heat easily escapes, there is absolutely no issue with power supply fan facing up.
To my point. With this case, I was unable to mount the fan facing up. Unlike every other case I've purchased, this one has only 4 power supply mounting screw holes and they only line up when the power supply is mounted with the fan facing down. The only saving grace is that there is a filter on the bottom of the case to help limit dust from being sucked in, but I guarantee you plenty of dust will get past the filter and clog the power supply.
If you buy this case, or any other case and orient your power supply's intake fan to draw in outside air, ,make sure you clean the inside of the power supply and case by blasting it with a high-pressure air source every few months to get the dust out. This will save you a lot of headaches and expense down the road.
All in all, the case is good and will work for the needs of the most users it's destined to serve.
Took an old system which was in a Rosewill THOR (MASSIVE FULL TOWER) cleaned everything and brought it down effectively to a smaller platform.
- Pretty solid and classy feel
- Clean lines
- A few small things to make you smile like the fact that button bezel doesn't move when you remove the front panel (Try installing a radiator without it...... HUGE bonus)
- Great airflow
- Lots of fan mounting options
- Actual Hard Drives can only go in 1 way to the removable cage (Cable Management OCD :( )
- Long video cards can hit the upright, had to put a couple spacers on the standoffs to let video card "click-in"(Note this is on the same plane as the motherboard,) ie, the upright is 1mm too tall.... if case is laid on its side.
- There should be a bigger Cable management "Bung" towards the top of the motherboard
- The cable Management should also have slightly larger "holes" for many items.
Don't let the cons scare you, this case is an awesome deal, and the best I've ever used for under $50

So why the 2 star review? Because my case has 2 faults. The first is that one of the plastic "appendages" that hold the top part was broken when I first pulled it apart. As the top is still held in place and the breakage cant be seen I decided to not return it. The 2 nd and more important fault is to do with the power / reset buttons at the top. When you take off the front cover, the PCB that holds the power/reset buttons as well as the usb ports and headphone/mic ports is screwed onto a plastic stand-off, usually giving it the correct spacing so that the buttons can be pressed. On this case the pcb is actually sitting to close to the buttons ( manufacturing error ), the upshot of this is that if you touch anywhere at the top or front of the case it resets the pc as if you had actually pressed the button. Worse still is that it also happens when you plug anything into any of the USB ports. This is a major problem for me, and I have resolves it by disconnecting the reset switch (not ideal).
The reason I did not return this is two fold.... Firstly I would have been without my new PC for several days/weeks whilst it was returned and replaced. Secondly It was sent out from outside the UK ( I believe) so again would be an absolute hassle to return a case of this size. I believe both faults are actually Thermaltake's responsibility, not the sellers ( break was in a place that it could have only happened when first put together and boxed ). It's a real shame as I have been building pc's for 2 decades now, and often used Thermaltake for their design, quality and price. I will not out and out say I will never use their products again, but in future I will be very much more careful of these products, and have already started using other manufacturer's cases for my builds. I am actually tempted to dig out my old Thermaltake shark case from the loft as after more than a decade it is still in great condition, but the interior design of the pc has moved on which is why I went for the A71. I do understand that these things happen in mass production, but obviously Thermaltake's quality control sucks big time :p
It was very easy to put everything inside the computer. As it is a full size case, it meant nothing was squashed and all of my components fit inside perfectly. The hidden compartment means the wires are concealed behind, so when you look through the side window there's no mess of tangled wires.
The blue lights are a great feature - at night time it stands out and the whole look is very smart. I love how the match the front panels.
The fans are almost silent. The only time I ever notice them is if I'm doing something that requires a lot of processing - usually playing games in the highest settings, but it's not something I tend to notice, it definitely doesn't detract away from playing.
I ordered it from Amazon Warehouse Deals at around £50+ off the RRP and it arrived in immaculate condition and as promised within the Amazon Prime delivery time frame. Great service once again Amazon and many thanks.
here a photo of my build.
The removable mesh filters on the front and bottom helps reduce dust moving through the case - the latter especially helpful since the power supply is bottom-mounted. The two front audio jacks and USB ports provide basic accessibility, but it would have been nice if they doubled the USB ports considering there's plenty of room for it.
Inside, there are 3x 5.25" (DVD drives), 3x 3.5" (hard drives), and 3x 2.5" (SSD's) drive bays. Lengthwise, with a full-sized RX580 video card installed, there's a solid 3/4" of clearance from the drive bays. The side door's outward bulge provides just enough clearance for a tall fan like the Cooler Master Hyper 212.
Unfortunately, out of the box, there was a broken piece from the plastic front cover. For a cover that's designed to be removed, it won't last more than a handful of filter cleanings. Some people will be on the fence with the thin sheet-metal construction - it's lightweight yet rigid which is good for my needs, but I've had friends comment on how this feels "cheap."
There's a lot to like about this case, but the price is borderline with higher quality cases with more features. If this case were priced in the $35-40 range, it would be a no-brainer buy. Otherwise, I would research other choices that provide better value before considering this one.
Hablo en cosa de detalles, como los tornillos, las puertas, el tipo de plástico. No es algo importante pero que sí se nota al verla en frente y comprarándola con algún otro modelo de marca más carita.
