The Challenger Prime membrane gaming keyboard packs a whole lot of features at a budget friendly price. The backlighting system features red, blue, and purple LEDs for static and pulse lighting; Brightness can further adjusted via the dial in the front center of the keyboard. As with the Challenger series of keyboards, the Challenger Prime also features onboard memory for setting the dedicate macro keys. In addition, there are multimedia keys, shortcut keys, repeat rate and poll rate adjustment keys.

Stylized Gaming Design The Challenger Prime features an aggressive styling in the keyboard frame to add to your gaming atmosphere. The keyboard is an essential weapon when you game, so it should look like one too!	3 Color Backlighting with Fine Brightness Adjustment The Challenger Prime features 3 color backlighting (Blue, Red, and Purple). Lighting configurations include Pulse lighting mode and static lighting. There’s a dial in the top center of the keyboard to allow for fine brightness adjustment.	Macro Functions & Key Switching The Challenger Prime comes with 6 dedicated macro keys, which amounts to 18 programmable macros when paired up with the 3 storable profiles. Don't Buy This Keyboard!!!!

I've taken apart logitec keyboards to fix sticking keys. You can't take this one apart if you remove a certain screw with a sticker that says do not remove your keyboard with not work AGAIN!!!!!! I thought this sticker was a quality control sticker!! The reason I took the keyboard apart was to fix a stuck metal bracket on the SPACE KEY! I fixed it upon putting it back together I relized the sticker over top the bottom screw said DO NOT REMOVE was not a quality control sticker.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. WHAT KIND OF KEYBOARD MANUFACTURER DOESN'T ALLOW THEIR CUSTOMERS ACCESS TO THE INSIDE OF THEIR KEYBOARDS TO FIX STICKY OR STUCK KEYS!!! STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM THIS ONE A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!! IF THE MANUFACTURER WANTS THIS POST TAKEN DOWN THEY BETTER NOTIFY ME AND POST THE FIX TO THIS ISSUE!!! WHAT CAN YOU DO WITHOUT A SPACE KEY!!!!!!

Macro key functionality leaves something to be desired

The keyboard it self seems to be a good product for the price. It has a decent feel and response. HOWEVER the macro programming leaves something to be desired. You cannot hit a macro key while pressing any other key.I For Example: In game moving forward you typically hold the "w" key down. While that key is down there is no macro function. You must let up and then hit the macro key you have programmed for the macro to execute. I had to research this long and hard to find an answer and had I know it in advance I would not have purchased this keyboard. This may not bother you but it annoys the heck out of me in some games. I'm sorry but for that reason alone I wouldn't buy this again

Love the feel

I wanted a back-lit keyboard since I tent to forget to turn lights on when it gets dark. Not a big fan of bright lights. Anyways, I very much like this keyboard. I love the blue color too much to change it to purple or red. I like that the central knob can dim/turn off the lights, but I leave them on pretty much all the time.

The keys are what I would call soft. Not mechanical in any way. I enjoy soft keys. The only thing that really takes getting used to is the column of keys on the left-side. It throws me off when I'm placing my hands on the keyboard. I bought it for my casual gaming, but I use it for everything. I'm a writer and I've been writing most of my stuff with it lately. Just a nice decently priced keyboard.

Update: it's been over a year and I love this keyboard. It's still in as great of a shape as the day it arrived and I love typing on it. I'm completely smashing my word count during this year's NaNoWriMo and I do most of my writing on this keyboard. The backlight still works great and I love the feel of the keys. I tend to switch keyboard around, mostly because I can, and it puts my hands in slightly different positions, but I always come back to this one. The keys are very light and take little effort to press, which I notice because I switch around. I just love it.

Busted software, has been for ~4 years

The keyboard itself would be ok, but it has a bunch of very serious problems:
1: the macro function doesn't work correctly. with me, it only will perform one of the two buttons.
2: the software FREEZES when you try to save changes. it will just sit there forever with a message, but you have to ctrl+alt+del and close it in task manager, which of course means it doesn't save your changes.
3: the installer doesn't even really work right. you have to extract/save the folder to your hard drive first - if you just try to run the installer by opening it, it will ask you if it's ok to make changes, then nothing happens. Looking online at their website, there is a forum, with numerous threads about problems with both their keyboards and their mice as well.
On the surface, this appears to be a good bang for the buck item, but you can't use any of the features because the software has been and will continue to be broken. Plenty of alternatives that actually function.

I quite enjoy the mechanical feel of the keyboard - it might be a little loud for some environments with fast typers, but it's very tactile and responsive, with what feels like very solid ergonomics. It is easy to clean, which is extremely nice. It is starting to have minor rubbing off with the lettering through normal usage, but everything is still quite legible. The mouse is good, I very much appreciate the DPI settings - I did have to RMA it once for a malfunctioning right button, but TTesports was quite quick and courteous with the procedure for which I'm extremely grateful. Overall, it's a great brand which I will be coming back to for future needs.

Included are photos of the lighting as viewed at night and in 200 lux of light.

Mouse is great, keyboard not so much

I like the mouse a lot and have pretty much 0 complaints as far as it's concerned. However the keyboard is a bit of a pain. I've had it for a year now and while it's comfortable and functional, it's taken to having certain keys pop off consistently which is very annoying. If you're using it for gaming you'd know how much of a drag this is but I'll have my "A" key pop off randomly while playing sometimes. That's not that big of a deal because it's easy to put back in unlike the enter key. The enter key you have to maneuver two metal hinges forward and under two plastic tabs, while moving the key itself backwards to put it back into place. My enter key pops off at least a handful of times a week and it's getting extremely annoying. The backlight is pretty weak when it comes to shining "through" the keys and morseo just shines "around" them. For this price point I'm not expecting anything amazing but I'm still a bit let down that only a year in and there's consistent issues with certain keys leaving me looking for another keyboard.

More Cheaply Made than it looks. SERIOUS POOLER ISSUES

IF you use Windoze you might want to think twice about buying this keyboard. I'm a big TT fan but this keyboard, I would say is not their best. Even the feel of it is cheap. I don't know if they modded it since it came out but the keyboard lights start at DIM and can be turned down to very DIM and EXTREMELY DIM. Back lighting leaves a bit to be desired. Drivers are not so "plug and play" after all. 3 nights of struggling with pooler issues. I would not advertise this as a real gamer keyboard. #1 - It isn't tough enough. #2 - It isn't user friendly enough. #3 - The knob for lighting would have better been used as a volume control for sound than a light control that barely gives much light on full settings. I went back to my old mechanical keyboard that is so hard on my old man's fingers. The good thing about it is that it is a membrane keyboard and that is the reason I bought it in addition to the fact that I'm a Thermal Take user. Trust me when I say that there are better boards out there in this price range. That'll teach me to be a fan boy.

Do yourself a favour and buy yourself a LOGITECH PRODIGY.

Cheap quality

I had to return this keyboard shortly after I received it. The backlighting works well but overall the keyboard is pretty cheaply made, you can feel it. In my case, it was working fine for a few days but then the spacebar started squeaking every time it was pressed. Never seen this before on any keyboard, let alone an expensive gaming keyboard that's 3 days old. Disappointing from Thermaltake. Just to make it worse, the seller reported it was "functioning properly for its intended use" so I had to pay a restocking fee. So beware - if you buy this from Mike's Computer Shop, you will probably get the one I returned!

Very good keyboard. I like the back light, specially when it is dark (e.g.: playing a game or watching a movie in the dark). You have plenty of control of lights (3 only, red, purple and blue) and you have those 6 extra keys that are very useful for me when I am gaming.

4 Stars because:

1) The keys are "long" when pressing. Longer than my laptop's short keyboard.
2) The knob should be for volume control, not for light. You control volume way more times than light.
3) There are only 3 back light colours available;

None of these are bad, just could be improved.

LO BUENO:
+ Bastante personalizable. Con tres diferentes colores, teclas multimedia, y perilla de ajsute de intensidad de retroiluminación.
+ Teclas macro funcionales.

LO MALO:
- Las teclas no son muy responsivas. Me hizo devolver el producto que tenía presionada la tecla SHIFT y dejaba de registrar. Imposible usar para videojuegos.
- La barra espaciadora hace un chasqueo.

VEREDICTO:

Inconcluso. No lo volvería a comprar ni recomendar ya que no es un teclado funcional para mi gusto. Si las teclas fueran responsivas, sería un muy buen producto ya que tiene bastantes funciones y características.

If you like mechanical keyboards this one is very good and efficient for the money you will pay for. Unless you really want to flash your board to your friends with a big board 100$ + and more. This is the way to go, small cons are that you will not have all the explanation for all the functions right out of the box but you still can get all the instruction on Thermaltake site.
