This is like 1000%x%.000 better than the garbage piece of trash garbage that Intel bundles with their expensive CPUs. Like.. Here's a 350 dollar quad core hyper threading face meltingly fast processor and here's your piece of crap fan that will start buzzing in 3 months and will completely stop spinning in 4 months causing your awesome beast of a CPU to cry while it heats up to dangerous temperatures. Have fun with that.

Anyway, this is cheap and it's lasted twice as long (so far). It's much quieter and my brave little computer is much happier.

This is a decent cooler and cools a few degrees C better than the stock 84 watt TDP Haswell i7-4770K cooler. I especially like that it directs cooling air down and in all directions to help cool the power supply components, capacitors, and northbridge/southbridge on the motherboard. This should greatly extend the life of the motherboard compared to "side flow" coolers and is especially important for PC's that are on all day.

It's a bit noisier than the stock Intel cooler and the fan is not easily replaced (there are little pressed on clips on the long heatsink mounting screws that also hold the fan in place). I do wonder how long the fan will last as fan life is often a problem on non-Intel heatsinks. Despite manufacture claims, many are sourced from low-end Chinese suppliers with poor quality control, marginal bearings, etc. Given this whole cooler costs less than some quality fans alone, you have to wonder.

Summary: This is a marginal upgrade cooling-wise over the stock Intel quad core i7 Haswell cooler. You trade a bit more noise and unknown fan life for slightly lower temps. It would be a more significant upgrade over the stock Intel 55 watt cooler that comes on most of their dual core Haswells.

I give this a 5 star for ease of installation alone. What a difference to other brands and models! 4 pops in at 4 corners and you are good to go. I'm surprised though it's quite sensitive to ambient temperatures. Can't use it to overclock in a warmish room for Haswell I7. So I keep it cool, and it stays cool too. Prior used a corsair water cooling but never satisfied with its seal. It was a B to install and not worth the stress compared to this one. I could pop one of these in an assembly line and still be feeling fresh at the end of the day. It's a good one.

Good reasonably sized CPU cooler that can handle some overclocking provided you get a good mating surface with thermal paste (already applied). I have my 4690k running at 4.3GHZ fully stable - temps under heavy gaming maz out around 65 degrees. If i run a burn in, i'll see temps in the 80's max. I like this cooler after dealing with monstrous heat sinks that would not allow my case to close. Simple, small, works well.

This was a replacement for a stock cooling fan that was broken during cleaning. The first thing I want to point out to people is that this is not a fast swap out. I had to take my motherboard out to get it on. If you are not worried about that part this is a great deal and was a nice upgrade from the stock fan. It doesn't seem to me to be louder than the stock fan which is great. Overall pretty good but a pain to install. Still rate it a 5/5 and will buy replacements in the future now that I have that bracket under the motherboard.

Noisy. This fan is pretty loud. It cools the processor sufficiently but not much better than the original fan that came with the processor. My rig would be pretty quiet if it weren't for this fan. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't so loud.

I installed this on my ASUS P7P 55LX / Intel i5 ~ and what a difference from the stock cooler. I know that my cpu had become unseated and my temp.s were over the top, but still, just getting the old cooler out of there and with this properly installed has dropped my idle temps to the low 30's and even upper 20's! Great bargain - and while you still have to remove the motherboard to install, after that it's a cinch.

Has cut down my CPU temp by 40+ degrees! Way better than paying for the 10 dollar stock intel fan and heatsink for these processors! Way better harness to the motherboard as well. The other ones have the push in plastic clamps that tend to break.
