Product Description

Continuing the legacy of the award winning original Frio cooler, the Frio OCK is yet once again setting new standards in the industry. With a whopping heat dissipation capacity of 240 W this powerful cooler is clearly leading the pack. Targeting power users and ambitioned overclockers, the Frio OCK comes with six 6 mm high-efficiency heat pipes that effectively transport heat from the base into two separate cooling towers. By adopting this dual-tower design the gap between both towers increases airflow and ventilation created by the dual fans. Frio OCK’s design approach captures and embodies currently prevailing computer gaming elements, in particular the shape and color scheme is resembling a firm and powerful bunker as inspired by the popular PC game StarCraft II. In doing so, Thermaltake is trying to bring virtual game visuals into every-day life, resembling a manifestation of the fictional within the real. The dual-fan module is not only unique by its looks, but furthermore offers several practical usage advantages. Both fans are designed to work in tandem as a push-pull-combination where one fan pushes cold air over the tower fins, while the other fan on the opposite site pulls out hot air and then exhausts it through the cases back side. A convenient single fan speed control knob adjusts both fans in parallel to guarantee optimized airflow and maximize cooling efficiency. The 130 mm high pressure OC fans can be tuned between 1200 RPM for normal operation and up to 2100 RPM in OC mode and under mission critical circumstances when in 24/7 operation.

Although i'm sure that this is a very good and effective heat sink for any performance nut, one thing you need to absolutely, positively make sure that this device will fit well in your computer case. Honestly i think this product was intended for full sized and 4x4 cases only. Amazon falls to give dimensions on just how big this product really is and unless you take the time to venture to other sites and find one not giving them in metric units you'll see that this heat sink is 6 INCHES HIGH AND MORE THAN 5.5 INCHES WIDE AND DEEP . Take the time to grab a tap measure and pull it out about half a foot and open your case and look. This heat sink will also not clean any sticks of ram in its way,low profile or not, so if your tape sure goes over your ram, butts up agents your primary export fan or wont let you put your side panel back on then you might want to consider a slightly smaller product. I have a zulman mid tower with a B75M D3H Gigbyte motherboard with an Intel core i7 3370k and 4 stick of (4x4 GB DDR3) Rip Jaw, G Skill Ram. All that being, I only wrote this review really so i could help let people know about that size of this thing. Im sure its a great product and would hope it would be given its size. That's all... happy hunting

The Frio OCK CPU cooler is truly a great performing cooler; even with the fans on low it keeps your CPU nice and cool. If you're looking for good looks and good performance, look no further than the Frio OCK from Thermaltake.

The Frio OCK is loud on high yes, and from what I can see there really is no need to turn up the fans at all. You can get the same performance from the cooler even with the fans on low.

The Frio OCK is large yes, but its size it what makes it a great cooler. The size though could be a problem as you won't be able to use ram with large heat spreaders on it.

Pros:
+Very good cooling ability
+Whisper quiet on low speeds
+Looks good
+Fairly easy installation

Cons:
-Very loud when fans on high
-Might not fit with large style ram

This thing is fricken enormous. I cut the absolute s*** out of my hand while trying to get the plastic (blue/black) plastic cover back over the heat sink after screwing it into my motherboard. After an hour of blood, sweat, and tears shed on my motherboard, my pc was built.

I'm not joking, i literally bled and sweat all over my motherboard. It's a way I can remember that these parts didn't cooperate well with me.

BUT, after everything got installed and plugged in... it works great. You can even control the speed of the fan on this heat sink.

It's awesome... but it is honestly massive.

Unit does not clear memory if memory has a heatsink. I had to "modify" dim closest to cpu
Motherboard = GigaByte GA-Z77X-UD5H, Memory = Patriot Memory Viper 3 Series. Other than that unit is great, nice a quite.

I provided my son the means to soup up his computer via Nvidia high performance video cards and other devices which require additional cooling. The cooling provided by this CPU cooler also allows for the other fans to cool the other cards without the burden of the heat from the CPU. Does and excellent job and is easy to install.

Finished installing this a little while ago, and feel compelled to share.

This fan is NOT for newbies! If you have not built a machine before, you might end up asking for help.

My biggest gripe is, because of the placement of the CPU fan plug on my machine, I was not able to have this unit push air out the top of the case. Blowing hot air on the video card does not seem smart, so I bypassed the CPU plug, wired the fan directly into my master fan controller, and flipped the fan cage so that it blows air in the proper direction.

Those two issues aside, I am impressed with the performance of the unit. I would give it 5 stars if there were only a way to reverse the airflow in the fans.

I needed a new cooler, and I wanted Thermaltake because its a brand I love and my cpu is all Thermaltake (my case, psu, and fan cpu cooler.) This cooler is huge, it will probably only fit in full size cases. But boy, its a nice piece of equipment. The fan can be heard when you put it on high speed but is whisper quiet on low speed.

I am running a Amd 8320, Msi 970A-G46, 2x Nvidia Geforce GTX 660's, and three internal hdds' (2tb,250gb, and 500gb) and one external (500gb)

consider its dimensions, wasn't listed when I purchased it and had to return an upper fan due to clearance problems, as well as it covers up my 2 inner memory slots. I would be sol if I need all 4 slots
