These PSUs have RGB in the Riing fans but they are single color at any given time They can shift through the colors but the fan is only a single color and then shifts to another single color. The Riing Plus has nultizone control in EACH unit that allows the full rainbow to appear at once along the fans LEDs.
The software to run them is tricky but useful for many things besides controlling the limited RGB function. I did like the software because it shows power consumption and specs for power use by component... HDD, SDD, GPU, CPU etc. That is sweet!
But I was building a rainbow PC intending to get the effects shown in the pictures... as in a full rainbow in the rings rather than single color shift through the rainbow spectrum. Furthermore, I bought a Thermaltake AIO cooler that has Riing lighting and these 2 do not talk to one another or sync with my motherboards Aura sync function. They are 2 independently lit and controlled items. This PSU is controlled via software and the AIO cooler is controlled with a hardware button. They do not sync at all.
So what I have is a riot of color. Mobo lights up, ram lights up, GPU lights up, PSU lights up and cooler lights up but only a few of the items sync together. Do yourself a favor and be VERY choosy about what you want lit up and focus on that. This is a great unit for supplying power, but do not buy it unless you want it locked into a single RGB color.

-The Thermaltake software,had to be registered,through their website,then wanted to track my location (you could opt out).Everytime it started up,it would ask me to log in,and kept failing to remember my fan color setting.After finally getting it registered (At the time I had to contact customer service,because I kept signing up,and it wouldn't send me the confirmation email.1 year ago,the system wouldn't work with an gmail address.I registered with a different email...Bingo)
It auto updates the software,and applies it, no way to stop it....It auto updates one day,The new version is horrible,never remembers any setting,even when you don't restart the computer.Wake up one morning,and my fan color is red...and it's giving me power warnings out of the blue....Then crashing....the software...
I uninstalled the the software,and reinstalled the original version of the software,then blocked it with my firewall,so it wouldn't auto update....The software remembers my settings..Eventually I just deleted the Auto update.exe....The software crashed the other day,and I never restarted,or started it back up...Fan color hasn't changed,and my system seemed to run so much better ever since...So I may kill off the software,after restart the P.C.,the only thing I use it for,is the fan color...the rest of the info is Blah,Blah,Blah, I could care less...

Update 7/2020 -Built a different computer in 4/2020,more powerful,uses less wattage,and and started getting kernel power failure errors every 3-7 days.The P.C. would just shut down,like the power went out,I did memory test,they came back clean,reinstalled windows,everything else in the P.C. new,except the power supply...
It made it just short of 3 yrs??????????....It's down to 1 star....

I finally figured out why I could seem to get the SPM features working.. ie software monitoring of the power supply...
ya gota make sure the USB connector is pushed into the mini-USB port on the power supply FULLY!! lol ;p
using the program called HWmonitor I have noticed this power supply's 3.3v rail is a tad bit low.. at a constant 3.132 volts instead of exactly v3.3..... not sure if this is ok or is a defective power supply...
