Thermaltronics BC-10 Lötspitzen-Reinigungsdraht, austauschbar für Metcal AC-BP, Hakko 599B, 599-029, 10 Stück

I hate using "Brillo" or "SOS" steel-wool pads in the kitchen as they only last a few days before disintegrating or rusting. Each of these last for weeks, and they do a great job scrubbing! I've found similar pads in the supermarket, but they don't last nearly as long as these do.

I haven't had any problems with them scratching stainless steel pots/pans. BTW, after scrubbing the stuck-on goop off, you still need to wash with a sponge as these pads don't hold soap. They also don't get caked up with the goop... so, overall that's a good thing!

They're a bit smaller than a Brillo pad, and I do wish these were bigger.

Excellent Quality, Performance, & Longevity. Probably the Best solder tip cleaners I have used. Being slightly small in size is my only & very minor complaint. Putting two in the container at once solved this. I thought possibly I would use them up faster like that, however I’ve been wrong & still am using the original two. I’d buy again & recommend these.

I've used these replacements for years. I usually double them up inside the bucket they go in, but then switch out the top brass cleaner with a new one when it gets too abused. The double thickness helps keep the soldering iron from hitting the bottom of the bucket. I've used a temp-controlled iron for 20-30hrs a week for a good stretch and these last quite a while.

If I'm doing that heavy of soldering I do have to clean out the bucket and pick larger pieces of solder that accumulates out of the brass cleaner -- otherwise when I go to clean the iron I still end up with solder on the tip since too much has accumulated in the brass wire. But it's a couple minutes to dump out the bucket and clean larger pieces out of the brass wire, then back to soldering. These brass cleaners hold up pretty well before having to be replaced. Definitely recommend over sponges that need to be wet. But, you will need to initially purchase the holder bucket for them. I can't imagine trying to use a holder that wasn't made for these and making it work.

A single brass sponge and a container came with my soldering iron but I wanted some replacements as I do quite a bit of soldering when making suncatchers. These Thermaltronics B10 cleaning wire sponges work great as replacements, fit the container well, and keep the tip of the soldering iron clean and ready to use. I would buy these again.

These measure about 65mm in diameter and not quite 20mm thick. I weighed one and it was 11.79g. They need to be about 50% larger.

Ten of these at this price point is very generous. I bought them to replace the one in my ancient Radio Shack branded brass tip sponge. Others who are hoping to replace the brass sponge of a Radio Shack tip cleaner, expect to combine 2-3 brass sponges to replace the stock Radio Shack one. For Hakko replacement? One is more than enough. No matter how you roll the dice, this is one of the best offerings on the market for solder freaks like me.

I wish I knew about this a long time ago. Have always just used the wet sponge. This brass style cleans more efficiently and keeps the tip in better condition.

Each one is about size of golf ball. I just stuff 2 of them into a metal tin and it works great. It came nice and shiny. Package of 10 which will last a long time.
