They Called Him Sparky Paperback – June 1, 2006
Thank heavens for people who save letters! And thank heavens for David Liverett for publishing them in this book. The letters from Sparky in 1949 reveal the playful humor that he was to develop in his comic strip over the next decades. I love reading them and the reminiscences. --Jeannie Schulz
Call him 'Sparky,' because after reading these warm recollections by his friends, you, too, will feel as if you've known Charles Schulz forever. --Holly Miller, Senior Editor, The Saturday Evening Post
This lovely little book tells the story of a relatively unknown but highly influential chapter of Charles Schulz's life. David Liverett, has given us a pleasant and sometimes homey glimpse into the formative faith-world of a deeply theological thinker. --Arthur Kelly
