Cecelia Mecca is a kick arse author. I love this series. When a new book comes out it is like revisiting old friends that you haven't seen for a while.
For those out there who have not yet read a Mecca book, you cannot go wrong.
Cecelia Mecca has again written an amazing story that will pull you in with her wonderful prose and vivid descriptions.
The scenes are painted vividly, making you feel you're there. It's an emotional, romantic book that captured and held me from start to finish.
This story is emotional and devours you as you read it, tearing yourself from the book is not an option.
In my opinion, in a relatively short time, she has become an exceptional author on the scale of Kathryn Le Veque.

There is some suspense and a couple villains, but not much else. The is a problem for our h and when the outcome is about to happen, it is anticlimactic, most of it off page. There is an epilogue that you download for free, with a build up for the next book.
There is a cliffhanger, we do get HEA that is resolved quickly. I am not going into the blurb, as many have explained it, just what to expect reading it. (ljb)
Lady Sara, Daughter of the late Earl of Keneshire, has to protect her keep, her people, who rely upon her, from her greedy, dangerous cousin, who is on his way, to steal her home, and her title, Countess. That is why her father, before his death, asked Hugh, and his nephew, Sir Geoffrey, a warrior Knight, to keep her safe, until her marriage to a highly placed Earl.
However, from the moment Sir Geoffrey lays eyes on Lady Sara, his life will change from one of revenge, against the clan, who stole his birth right, to wanting to keep Lady Sara alive, at all cost. Lady Sara, has seen men in her father's keep, practice their art of war, none can compare to this tall, dark, handsome warrior, who has come to protect her life! The only problem is, who is she, in more danger of, her cousin, or Sir Geoffrey?
I highly recommend! Thanks Enjoy!

A 🐦bird in the hand......
Liked the book📑! The historical research the author did was phenomenal! The story is well crafted, and although there is the requisite angst between Sara💃💋 and Geoffrey🐺🍆🌋🔪, there is a happy ending!
The threat to Lady Sara is vague and anticlimatic, but the chemistry between Geoffrey and Sara is sizzling! Their true love is blocked by the duty of Sara to marry a noble with wealth and power to honor her father's dying request!
A fun, easy reading and sexy book 1 in the Boder Series by Cecilia Mecca. This book is a worthy tale of medievil times!

The by play between Geoffrey and Sara was wonderful.
It definitely played on my emotions and I'm not afraid to say that I cried at some part.
I had read the prequel 'The Wards Bride' and enjoyed it and it was interesting to find out what happened to Hugh.
I was given an ARC of this book but I enjoyed it so much I purchased a copy to keep for myself.
All opinions are honest and my own.
