Format: Hardcover
This is a very revealing book about all the ways that investors are being swindled. At first I could not believe what the CIBC did to one of its clients, but then I found the court documents on-line and it is true.

I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down! A lot of insight into recent securities scams, corporate frauds and thefts in Canada and our lax regulatory environment that allows these things to continue to happen. I was familiar with many of the high profile cases that the author discussed like Conrad Black and Earl Jones. But, I was amazed to hear the stories of many innocent investors that had been duped by their investment advisers, bilked of their lifetime savings, and how our provincial securities commissions have allow this to happen. Many of these investment advisers continue to operate in the industry today. The book really showed me that our investments are not as safe as we might have thought and that no one is really looking out for the average investor.

Canadians stupidly feel that they have sounder financial institutions than the U.S. This book clearly shows the limitations of this belief. In addition, it shows that there is one set of rules for the well- off and another set for the rest of us.
