The object of this game is to fit all four game pieces on the card so that the tracks on the card are covered. What makes this game particularly tricky is that the game pieces will also cover sections of the card that DON'T have tracks, but that doesn't matter, as long as all of the tracks are covered. My kids have had fun with this game, and have played it cooperatively, "no, try this," helping each other to solve the puzzle. My four year old could solve 3 of the 5 beginning cards independently, but needed help for the others. My eight year old was challenged by the more advanced cards.

Visually it is an appealing game too, the game pieces are bright and textured and the cards have soft yellow and green hues.

I do wish the solutions had been printed on the back of the cards, rather than in a separate booklet, and I also would have liked to see more than 20 cards (only 5 are beginner), but overall I am happy with this purchase. Maybe I can make a few more cards for them - or, even better, have the kids make their OWN cards for each other...

I came across this game at a local second hand store. I had never heard of Thinkfun before but gave it a try and boy am I glad I did! Not only do I love this game, but my 5 year old loves to try to solve the puzzles. She does pretty well with the beginner cards and will work into the more advanced cards later. I love this type of thing. Something I can do on my own after the kids have gone to bed and I have some quiet time. Or it's great to bring along on family weekend outings or car trips. It doesn't take up a lot of space but provides hours of entertainment. The only thing is, unless you work cooperatively, this is intended for one person. But still, it's great for spatial awareness for kids (the beginning cards)and challenging enough (with the more advanced cards) for an adult to get lots of entertainment out of this puzzle. This was my first introduction to the Thinkfun line which I have purchased many games from them since and have many more I want to try. If you like puzzles, this is a great line of games to get into.

This game is one we take with us when we go out to breakfast at our favorite diner. There are few pieces (read: easy to keep track of, hard to lose) and my kids from 5 on up to adults with us have a good time with the game. Its enjoyable for puzzle lovers and children with good mechanical and spatial ability, and a good challenge for others who need to improve those skills.

Bought this for our daughter for a trip across the country along with a couple other games. Little did we know we (and the grandparents) would love it so much, too. The game has multiple levels (cards that serve as gameboards) and our 6 year old can do all of the 1st level and most of the next without any help. Occasionally she hits it just right and solves one of the tougher puzzles. One of the fun things about this game is that when the card is turned 90 degrees the game essentially becomes new again. We used it in the car, on the plane, while winding down the day when camping, etc. Small, compact, easy to carry, quiet (except for the exitement it generates!) there's everything to like about this one! Enjoy!

Another excellent Game/Puzzle by ThinkFun,(the new name for Binary Arts).Probably you know about a somewhat similar game called "Rush Hour",a very popular game of challenge and enjoyment, also by ThinkFun in several versions.
"Cover Your Tracks" was invented by Lixy,a brilliant young Japanese puzzle designer with the help of Tyler Barrett. This puzzle was first marketed in 2000.It is very well designed, and coustructed,It measures 7 x 7 x3/4 inches. It has 20 heavy, durable cards, each of which is a puzzle.,that fits in the tray to solve. The puzzles come in Beginner (5),Intermediate (5),Advanced (5) and Expert (5) levels of difficulty. The 4 game pieces are very sturdy, about 1/2 " in thickness and in 4 colors, orange green, blue and red.;although the different colors have no bearing on the solution of the puzzles. They are, however. helpful in showing the solutions which are supplied in a booklet. However it would be more helpful if the solutions were included on the back of the puzzle cards.Compared to other ThinkFun games, this game has only 20 puzzles, instead of 40 or more.
The game is for one person to play. The object is to "cover" the footprints on the cards, and all game pieces must be used.
The puzzle cards, and the instruction and solutions booklet fit inside the tray;and the tray and play pieces all fit into a strong cloth bag with a locking drawstring;making it great for travel or storage.
This game is suitable fot all ages and puzzle solving abilities;and the playing directions take only a minute to understand.

This is one of the favourite games for my students when we have a period of "Fun Friday" doing logic games in my classroom. Most of the time, there are two to three students sitting around the desk talking each other with different strategies to cover up the tracks. This game is usually reserved two weeks in advance by my students who want to "call it" to have their chance to play it. It is also one of the games borrowed every day during lunch period by students who ask to come into my classroom to eat lunch and work on puzzles.
