appear to be a brainteaser. However this puzzle was certainly no joke. While it is less
geometric with linear edges and points as tangrams, soma cubes, or pentominoes, it still
was not an easy puzzle. Arranging the colors in the proper color and shape silhouettes
really turned out to be tough. If you are looking for puzzles other than standard picture
jigsaw puzzles and you are artistically inclined, then this puzzle, reasonably priced, would
be the best puzzle to purchase.
Perfect little game to keep out on your desk for a quick, challenging distraction and the finished product looks like a piece of art.

I received Sports Collection Stenzzles from ThinkFun in exchange for my honest review.
We have 3 boys, ages 9, 6, and 1. My husband, our oldest, and I were the ones to test this out.
It was challenging. Our son thought it was cool but hard. This isn't at the top of our list of favorites. We have a few other logic puzzles from ThinkFun that we all enjoy a lot more. I think this is one that will be enjoyed more later when our boys are older.
The cards are very durable and I don't worry about them wearing out anytime soon.

It's a clever concept: Flip, turn, and layer the eight stencils until you match the puzzle image provided. We each took turns solving the puzzles individually, and also enjoyed working cooperatively on a few. They were challenging, but not frustratingly so. Both my 7 year old and my 11 year old preferred working as a team, but could solve the puzzles on their own. Arriving at the correct pattern involved a good mix of educated guessing and methodical trial and error.
My 7 year old also had a lot of fun using colored pencils to stencil with Stenzzles. After playing with them as a stacking puzzle, she thought it was cool to color her own layered design.
We give Stenzzles four stars, rather than five, mainly because of the design. The stencils are thick, laminated cardboard. They seem sturdy, but within minutes of gentle use, the laminated paper started to peel back from the inner edge of one of our stencils. It seems like plastic would have been a better choice. We all agreed that we would have preferred larger stencils, too. Because the cardboard is thick, when the small, 4-inch squares are stacked, it becomes difficult to see the smaller slivers of color within the puzzle. I suppose the small squares were chosen so that stacked designs displayed in the provided stand wouldn't take up too much space. My personal preference would be to use Stenzzles as a puzzle/game rather than an art piece, so I guess I would have preferred one of ThinkFun's drawstring storage bags instead of the stand.Read more ›
