I own a lot of digital cameras of various brands and various models within those brands so I know batteries come in a whole range of sizes. As far as what these pouches hold, each compartment will hold one Canon 7D battery, one Canon 50D battery, one Canon Rebel T2i battery, one Fujifilm X-Pro1/2 battery, one Olympus E-P1/2 or Evolt e-620 battery (same battery) or a single Olympus Evolt e-520 battery (I love those old Olympus DSLRs and really hate Olympus discontinued them.) In addition, each compartment will hold two Panasonic Lumix LX-5 batteries or two Fujifilm X100(S/T) batteries. Generally speaking, these handle every battery size I use for every digital camera I own which is a pretty wide range of sizes.
Material and stitching is fine. In time the elastic will probably get saggy but it's tight right now. The Velcro closure is secure but may be a little loose for single smaller size batteries.
The 4-compartment model is ideal for storage and travel while the 2-compartment model fits in a pocket for those times when you just want to go light with one camera. Given that we're seeing smaller cameras these days and smaller cameras use smaller batteries with smaller capacities and shorter charge lives, carrying a couple of spares is a wise decision.
Of course, there's always room for improvement...
If there was some sort of loop on the back side, to allow it to be mounted on a belt or camera strap, it would be 100% perfection. Since the manufacturer's name is "think tank"...I'm surprised that they didn't think of that...;-)
Quality materials, double stitched on exterior seams.
Well worth the price.
Holds micro four thirds batteries
Ideal if you have four batteries only
Doesn't protect your batteries very well
This is a good way to keep your batteries organized and decently protected from bumping around in your bag. But this will not protect your batteries from heavy drops or crushing. But this is very simple and it just meant as a way to keep things from getting lost. It fits my omd em1 batteries well and keeps them secure. This is an ideal tool if you have four batteries because it keeps it more rigid. Otherwise it can bend easily and will wear down quicker and possible fail. This is a product more for the long exposure photographer or a pro, because ideally you want to have four batteries. To the weekend photographer or the soccer mom/dad I would go with a 2 battery carrier. Good product and I would buy another
