About the Author
Thinking Out Loud is the fourth book of poet and indie author, Clara B. Ray, who has been writing poetry about three years. Growing up as Clara Finley in rural Ardmore, Oklahoma, she currently resides in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Clara is 54 years old, a mother of two and grandmother of three. Clara gained valuable experience and media exposure as a writer and speaker, while serving as a volunteer victim advocate for the Oklahoma City YWCA Crisis Intervention Center & Battered Women's Shelter. She is an adult survivor of paternal child abuse, who witnessed her mother endure domestic violence. She cherished being the media relations person present in 1991, as the mayor proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Oklahoma City. Although Clara is a licensed minister, she does not occupy a pulpit, nor does she plan to return to active ministry. She looks forward to retiring next year after 25 years of employment with the State of Oklahoma, and continuing her career as a writer.
