Jews routinely condemn others for failng to rescue Jews from the fictional "gas chambers". Yet the hard historical fact is that, while the Jewish leadership was publicly condemning the Nazis, they were secretly making deals with Hitler to move German Jews to Palestine. The Zionist movement had always agreed with the anti-Semites that Jews were an alien element in gentile society. Therefore, it is scarcely surprising that immediately upon Hitler's ascension to power that German Zionists solicited him to "make a deal". Essentially, the deal was to transfer 40-50,000 German Jews to Palestine minus an exit tax. Special camps for training German Jews in agricultural pursuits were set up in Germany and the Nazi press overflowed with articles praising Jewish achievments in Palestine while suggesting that German Jews go to ther "real homeland". So enthusiastic were the Nazis for Zionism that they even allowed the blue and white flag of Zionism to fly in Germany side-by-side the swastika. Joseph Goebbels coined a medallion commemorating Zionism.

It is a tribute to the hypocrisy of authors such as Edwin Black that they can write books condemning American corporations for doing business with the Nazis while simultaneously praising Zionists for doing the same thing. Although Professor Nicosia does not mention it in his well-researched book, one reason so few Jews made it to America was because of the opposition of the Zionist leadership. The Zionists wanted the Jews left in Europe under Nazi control so that they could be rerouted to Palestine after the war. It was not just the isolationists and the State Department who opposed their entry to America.

Professor Nicosia has written a very informative book on many levels. Hitler was quite sympathetic to the Arabs of Palestine but nevertheless dumped Jews on them in the interests of his country first. He later backed off as war approached on the grounds that a Jewish state in Palestine would be an enemy of Germany. The Zionists are very careful to hide their deal making with the Nazis for obvious reasons. Probably no other aspect of Jewish history has been more deeply buried other than the immense cover up on the Jewish role in Communism. Still, there are aspects of Nazi-Zionist collaboration that even this book does not cover. When the Germans invaded Holland they took over the Jewish diamond cutting centers in Amsterdam. The Jews, however, retained control of the diamond mines in South Africa. Each side had what the other half wanted; neither could operate without the other. Naturally, another Nazi-Zionist diamond joint venture was formed. Otto Frank, the forger of the famous diary of his daughter, worked supplying uniforms and other war goods to the German Wehrmacht, a fact for which he was blackmailed for many years.

On and on it goes. This book will not tell you everything about Zionist deal making with the Nazis but it is a great place to start.
