Hillary Robins had watched all of her friends couple off. Everyone in her group had their person now, while she’d turned into something like the eighth wheel. I am amazed at the power of Ms Pyland’s writing skills. She had me squirming in my chair more times then I care to admit at my age! She develops each character fully and they mesh seamlessly into a cohesive story. The depth of each character shows just how intertwined the characters are. That takes some rather impressive writing skill. I have enjoyed every book I have read by Ms Pyland and I expect to have that trend continue. I strongly suggest you purchase the entire series, support the author and share you feelings about the books with others.

Until one day… Call it destiny, fate, kismet, whatever you like, but these 2 women had been showing up not only at the coffee shop, but other places. We know Hillary from other books in the series. Both women suffer from a lack of confidence, each for their own reasons, and both really want to get over it and approach the other. Amara hasn’t been with a man or a woman. She’s dated men and found she wasn’t interested. Hillary finally works up the courage to talk to Amara, and their story continues.

This has been much stronger than the Chicago series, in my opinion. San Francisco is not the Midwest, but it's not so much about the locale.

It's the side characters in this that show how strong this series is. I got annoyed with the main characters in the Chicago books because they were kind of terrible at times. In this one, even the side characters are interesting and show such nuance. Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they are an ally, and just because they are religious doesn't mean they are the enemy.

The fact that there are religious people in this book who aren't stereotyped cardboard cutout villains? That is story writing with a lot more depth than some other lesbian romance stories that I've read.

Oh, there are bad folks in this story. It's not all rainbows and sunshine. In aggregate, it was positive and progressive in a way that didn't need to push others down. Well done.

This third and final volume in the San Francisco Series covers some heavy topics, such as emotional abuse, self-esteem issues, fear of being oneself, bisexual discrimination, and that murky area where religion and sexuality meet. Given that, you might think that it is a very serious story all the way through, but that would be wrong. Nicole Pyland manages to address these rather heavy topics while maintaining a fairly lighthearted tone through most of the story, not to mention having some of the funniest scenes in the series, as well as a few that are more steamy than you might expect.

As always, the character development and chemistry between the leading ladies is superb and the supporting cast, which has mostly been introduced in earlier books in the series, but a couple of whom are new characters, are well written and developed as well. Highly recommended.

I enjoy reading this book. It seem a little bit different from the rest because it focus on a little more Amara and her coming on oneself. In which it wasn't a bad thing it was good to understand her better. Hillary was in the beginning of the series and gotten glimpses of her character. But finally we have her story and how she finally got the courage of asking Amara out. These two gave each strength to over come their problems of oneself. They was totally made for each. Great story to end the San Francisco Series.

I hope there is a part two for What Happen After.

Coming out is never easy but falling in love is not easy either. Is there love at first site or should you settle for what other people want? You have to please yourself and your partner the rest of the world doesn't matter. Great story, great characters, good writing I feel like I knew the characters. I've read her other two novels in the series and they were a great read as well. There is an HEA and overcoming homophobia both internal and external. Love conquers all in books shame it doesn't work like that in real life.
