These days, apps like TBH (To Be Honest) and social media platforms are the preferred modes of self reflection. Yet, the transitory nature of the medium – like SnapChat – or the sprawling information trove of Facebook and Twitter, renders the personal evolution virtually inaccessible. Lists, like the kind found in this book, capture – on paper – who you think you are right now.
My daughter has enjoyed filling out opinion books like this since she was young. The beautiful thing about books, is that they exist and are retrievable in real time. She can read the responses of her "old" self from the perspective of her emerging self. The questions in this book target a more mature and worldly teen, but the aim is the same: to document your present self for your future self.
