The authors detail their coming out stories in the introduction, which provides readers with a clear understanding of their background and perspective. In addition to the intended audience, teens may also find this title useful for making sense of their parents' experience. Similar books do not provide such a personal look into the stories and experiences of LGBT children and teens. The authors have provided pinpointed lists of information and easy-to-follow charts along with short summaries of chapters. The question-and-answer format is clear and the responses acknowledge that there are different options for helping both children and parents deal with the coming-out process. Since 2011, Dan has spoken at over 150 universities in the US and Canada, led business/staff training, faculty/admin training, and student led organizational consulting. Dan has a history working with artists, creatives, and big brands to handle social media consulting, brand messaging, media training, and overall brand expansion. Dan Owens MGMT is a talent company focused on managing creatives who are working toward active change in queer and trans spaces, mental health, and racial justice.

I can’t promise it will change my parents viewpoint on the LGBTQ community but I can feel that they feel reassured and atleast know more about what they couldn’t understand before. Would recommend this book and I don’t believe it would trigger any extreme homophobia and it makes sure to keep it settle but still getting the main point across. 10/10 would recommend.
