About the Author
C.C. Hunter is the author of the young adult fantasy series Shadow Falls, including the books Born at Midnight and Awake at Dawn. She grew up in Alabama, where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and regularly rescued potential princes, in the form of Alabama bullfrogs, from her brothers. Today, she's still fascinated with lightning bugs, mostly wears shoes, but has turned her focus to rescuing mammals. She now lives in Texas with her four rescued cats, one dog, and a prince of a husband, who for the record, is so not a frog. When she's not writing, she's reading, spending time with her family, or shooting things--with a camera, not a gun. C.C. Hunter is a pseudonym. Her real name is Christie Craig and she also writes humorous romantic suspense romance novels.

Her wishes come true on the same day that his are shattered. Now they share a foreboding dream and a desire to seek the truth behind the tragedy that links them forever.
Matt Kenner knows way more about loss than he should. His father was stolen away while serving his country and then his twin brother Eric was the victim of an apparent suicide.
When he agrees to tutor Leah for extra Algebra credit, he could have never guessed that it was the beginning of a connection that even death couldn't sever. She carries his brother's heart in her chest and she's the only person who can help him prove that Eric didn't die by his own hand.
Discovering exactly what happened that fateful night could mean the end to the romance beating so strongly between them or it could mean the end of life itself.
This Heart of Mine is a powerful and yet sweet story filled with so much possibility. There's a real appreciation for the gifts of today and C.C. Hunter combines it with a cautious hope for the future.
It makes for a reading experience that is poignant, harrowing and just a little euphoric. And you'll find yourself laughing through the tears until the very end…
Due to an infection that destroyed her heart, Leah lives day to day on an artificial one. Since she has a rare blood type the hopes of getting a transplant are slim to none. She makes small goals for herself. To graduate, to read 100 books, to get her first real kiss. She had a long time secret crush on Matt though he was way out of her league. They connected when Matt came to help her with her schoolwork. He was the more focused twin.
The other twin, Eric is more daring and gets in trouble. He ends up dead, ruled a suicide. Leah is given his heart. Because of the twin connection and Leah with Eric's heart they start having similar dreams about the night Eric was found dead. Together they will try to prove he was murdered.
CC Hunter grabs you in with this story. You agonize over what Leah and her family go through; first with the thought of her dying, and then with the fear of rejecting Eric's heart. On the other side is Matt dealing with the recent loss of his father and also Eric's suicide.
Give this roller coaster of emotion a ride. You'll enjoy it.
