Amber’s choices really aggravated me once we got to the second chance part. It’s like her life just stopped after she left and I didn’t really get it. I didn’t understand her resistance to Freddie the second time around. I mean, I guess if he was a jerk then I would have understood. But Freddie was just amazing. Her selfish decisions robbed him of ten years. And the waste made me not like her stubborn butt. I was wondering what the heck Freddie saw in her TBH.
Freddie was a bit extra in the Before. His attraction to Amber was very intense from the start. Not in a creepy way, it was part of his charm. When he had to make the tough decision, you could tell he hated it and didn’t want to do it. But he tried to make her understand his reasoning. It also showed his genuine love for her by putting her first. It was heartbreaking to read. I really liked how he came to his senses and tried to find her shortly after. Unfortunately for him, Amber was intent on running away. I think that is what pissed me off the most, her cowardice. And he just forgave her. With no asking and no explanation. It came off a bit more one sided in the love department for me in the After part. I felt like Amber should have had to work harder or at least not be so entitled to his love when they finally got around to being together.
The climax wasn’t huge but I think the intensity of their reunion overshadowed it and rightfully so. I liked that it was subtle. I’d read more from this author.
Fate, Romance, Second Chances, Forgiveness
This Love was a Sentimental read for me. Talk about reminiscing in the past and all the wrong things you did as a teenager/young adult. Luckily Amber was able to get her second chance. I was hooked from the beginning and devoured it in no time. I really loved this book because it hit close to home for me. No spoilers here so if you enjoy YA/NA books, grab a copy.

I have read books by this author before and she always has me falling for her leading men. Freddy Bale is certainly no different. There is nothing I didn't adore about him - how he always put others before himself, his personality, his gorgeousness that I can just visualise... he's one mighty fine package of a man! I also loved the chemistry between him and Amber.
This is a second chance romance and I found the story very emotional. People's choices and the decisions that they make, even if they believe they are the right things to do, can quite often have devastating consequences. Whether you agree with and can accept the choices that are made by the characters, then that's up to you. For me, I felt it very true to life.... these things do happen and you'll see what I am referring to as you read the book. I loved the twists in this story, there's nothing better than thinking a story is going one way for the path to be changed as we head down another.
Another amazing read that I would so recommend to others. I'd actually love to read more in the future about many members of the Bale family...... they are a great unit.
Freddy - swoon, the mechanic with ocean blue eyes. And Amber, struggling with regrets. Her character is so easy to connect with, mistakes made, her struggle with her mother, shes very real. This is a beautiful story, first love and second chances, funny moments and heartbreaking too. Have the tissues ready!
I love Anna Bloom's writing, she is fast becoming a favorite author.
