My first book in semiotics. I have worked in marketing research, and used projective techniques such as the Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique. I was hoping this book would give me deeper insight into symbols and how we process them.
The book did help me understand new ways of categorizing symbols and it does have clear visuals to illustrate concepts. I also
I was a tad disappointed with the depth of analysis in the book; it was not as integrative as I would have liked. While I got a list of concepts and examples, the unifying framework could/should have been stronger. Less of a guide for practice for when to use what, more of a reference you can leaf through
