Author's Note: I write pretty dark stuff. I love to write impossible situations. My story lines will twist you up and tear you apart and I will surely make you cry. You may begin to wonder if there will ever be a happy ending. My heroes tend to be great and my heroines tend to be f*cked up. And, I like that word, and you'll have to get used to that or you may just want to pass on my work. I don't mind. Truly. Not really. Okay a little.
Lastly, I am not a fast writer. My plots are twisty, and it takes time to think them through. I spend more than half the year thinking about the storyline before I ever get words to show up on the page. So. You'll get one book a year from me if things are going great. I wish I wrote faster, but then again I would be a completely different writer if I did that. Still? I #LoveMyReaders

It was also worth the $3.99 in terms of writing (though there were some typos every now & again) and story.
I'd never read this author before, but I saw an advertisement for this book on Facebook and I read the blurb, which caught my interest. Who doesn't love a baseball player as the leading man? The ultimate male sports character... for me at least. So, I went to the Amazon Kindle site and read the sample (which was rather long for a sample) and I got dragged into the story of the baseball player who saves the ballerina. Hook. Line. And. Sinker.
I didn't bother to read reviews, it had over 250 with a high average rating. I didn't know I'd need tissues. I didn't know I'd just strapped myself in for an emotional roller coaster ride. I didn't know how quickly and how thoroughly I'd submerse myself in this story of fate, of lies, of dedication, of choices, of consequences, of grief, of time, of regret, of betrayal, of miscommunication, of heartache, of destiny, of love, but most of all of real life. This isn't your typical love story. This isn't a Disney movie. The story went to places I wasn't expecting and not always wanting or appreciating on multiple occasions. I'm a self-proclaimed hopeless romantic. And this story broke my heart for many reasons over the course of the book. I hoped. I cried. I raged. All at decisions made and the consequences that followed. While reading, there were times when I didn't understand Tally or her choices. In fact, I hated one of her choices. Then Linc would do something that I didn't understand either. The story pissed me off because the stars weren't aligning (though the "love" triangles were forming), but I couldn't stop reading because I had to know how this story of choices and consequences ended.
This story isn't always easy to read. I hated it at times because it was going places I didn't want it to go, but I loved it because it was real and it went places I didn't want it to go. Don't buy this for erotica. Don't buy this for a quick or light read. Don't buy this for the baseball player or the ballerina. Buy this for Tally and Linc. For Marla, Charlie, Kimberly, Cara, and even Rob (sort of, but not really). Buy this book for a reality check. Buy this book for hope and faith and love. Buy this book to make you think.
If you get nothing else out of this book, remember a lie that might mean nothing to you could mean everything to someone else. It can change your life path in the time it takes for the lie to pass your lips.
I highly recommend this book and eagerly anticipate the sequel. I gave it 4 stars because there wasn't enough happy moments together.
I will admit, the beginning was kind of slow for me, but something told me to stick through it and holy cow, I am so glad I did.
I know this will be a book I will read OVER AND OVER AGAIN. It is epic. A long tale that lasts years, through two COMPLETELY separate lives that fall into each other time and time again. Truly a star-crossed lover, fate separating them, yet bringing them together again and again through tragedy after tragedy.
For how could a major league baseball player and a world-touring, Prima Ballerina have a realtionship...
