Ms. Werlinger’s characters, not only in this book, but others…and I have read them all…leave such an impact on the reader because of her unique and fully developed writing style. Ms. Werlinger’s style of writing pulls the reader into the characters’ lives…along with every emotion they experience along the way. It is this type of reader engagement that makes a story come alive. It makes it memorable and it definitely makes it worth the reader’s time.
This book is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys…reading.
These traditions are so expertly woven into this story, that they are just as important as the characters. Normally, I don't care for a host (pardon the pun) of characters, but everyone in the book added to the plot. What a refreshing change!
Sister Michelle "Mickey" Stewart, an oncology doctor, enters St. Bridget's convent to escape the things in her life she cannot handle, and by entering the convent, she exchanges one set of problems for another. Sister Anselma presents to her the biggest challenge and is most attractive to Mickey, but she must resist. Until she cannot resist any longer. This is a wonderful story. Please read every word.
This book bought back some wonderful and some heartbreaking memories.
I wouldn't trade this book or those memories for anything.
Crying, laughing, feeling deeply are all exhausting emotions but so worthwhile .
Thank you,Caren for this lovely story.
It is one of those books that I'm having a hard time letting go.
