When it did I was so happy I didn't even try the sample and just went ahead and bought it.
That was a mistake. How can someone write a decent piece in one book and just dont give it the same amount of treatment in the other. Not what I was excpecting. Very rushed, lack of depth in places that was suppose to be more complicated and situations not well handled. It looked like no thought was put in to the story at all!
safe to say I returned it.
When Ryan's wife Tay ran off a year ago and left him heartbroken, he became a manwhore to the extreme. So coming back into his life, Tay just wanted a divorce and to move on for good...but Ryan was not about to lose his second chance at HEA with her. Their story was full of family drama, romantic angst and appearances by surprising newcomers into their lives. We get more of a glimpse of Reid and Summer's relationship as well (she pretty much has Reid's balls in her pocket now)...and YES...Summer's brother Xander stirs up a little trouble and will be the focus of the next book!!
As with most dramas, there's always a few bad girls who want to break couples up...you have some of them in this story...but the outcomes are funny, especially when Tay decides to "punish" Ryan every time an EX of his approaches him. A pretty light, but at times very sexy and steamy little love story.

I had high expectations for This Time Around. After getting a awesome teaser from Maybe This Time (Maybe #1) and the excerpt at the end in Maybe This Time, I was looking forward to an angsty second chance at love read. Did not get that.
It started off amazing but fell short fast. The angst was minimal as they rekindle their relationship quickly. They spent more time with inner angry thoughts than they did bickering. I kept waiting for something huge to happen like a shock moment since they hadled everything too fast but nothing came. A few issues did come up but I was dissapointed because these issues were done already in book 1. So it was nothing refreshing. Second is one of the issues was not even needed in this book. I felt this issue was thrown in to cause drama and it was handle quickly. I never got to invest in their relationship because everything that happend was handled quickly. I never got to absorb their feelings. I really needed some high/low moments.
I do love the brothers and friends. Was loving the brotherly love feeling again. They all were the highlight of the book for me. The fun bantering put a big smile on my face.
One of the things I love about Chantal Fernando writing style is she has a way of setting up her next books with some kick butt awesome teasers. So I love knowing who is going to be up next and get a sneak peak of what is possible to come. Sad to say I did have high hopes for this book. I do not think I will read the next book as of already showing Insta-Love. I do like his character so who knows might end up reading it out of curiosity. Never know the 3rd book might end up being a winner for me.
On a good note I will try her biker series Dragon's Lair (Wind Dragons MC #1) as I do love me some biker-riding-hotties.

She keeps you interested in all the characters.
We meet Taiya - yes Ryan's WIFE!!! (if you read 'Maybe this time...') and she came back in his life with a slap - a literal one. They separated because of a stupid deed - that Ryan did - Taiya ran away to South Africa, telling him to move on - as she would. And Ryan moved on by hitting on basically every available woman - but it was never HER - his wife, nobody could fill the emptiness she left behind.
I just love Ryan. He made sure she knows he loves her. He took his wedding ring out and put it back on - and just like that he was off the availability list. He was a one woman man - Taiya was the love of his life and he was going to fight for their relationship.
Taiya never stopped loving Ryan. But getting hurt by seeing your ex-best friend kissing your husband - no woman should endure that sight. Ryan didnt push his presence on her too much. but when they got together - it was awesome. He had to work hard to prove his loyalty to her. He broke her trust and that was difficult to build up again.
They have many problems, yes. But they deal with it, yes they hurt each others feelings - but they worked it out again.Read more ›
