Rob Phillips was out to have a good time when he attended the art exhibit his twin sister’s company was hosting. But he found himself mesmerized by the beautiful young woman he happened to be introduced to. Alison was not Rob usual type but he was drawn to her and she to him, despite the obvious reservation they both felt. Can these two different people make a go of a relationship? The author played it along revealing tiny bits at a time, just enough to keep the reader turning the pages until the very end. This is a heartfelt romantic with a touch of suspense and intrigue.
Rob is instantly attracted to Alison but she keeps putting him off and he knows if he can get with her one time his obsession might cease. The more he gets to know this poor broken but tough woman the more he wants her but Robert has some secrets of his own but he is as ashamed as Alison is of hers but he just can't let her go.
Just reading how they finally share their pain makes the story but how they attempt to overcome it makes you cheer them on for a happy ending.

The author has a serious knack for detail, which in turn causes the reader to fall in love with her characters. This piece evokes emotion since it touches upon a harrowing experience that Allison endured, and in the process of reading it, I found myself with chills.
It was a pleasure to read how the lives of those that work at Dennison Property are intertwined.
There were little twists and turns which made this novel quite appealing, and although I found myself annoyed at the characters in the beginning for dancing around their feelings for one another, once they opened up, it was apparent as to why they took their time to spill their secrets.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read that I'm sure any romantic will fancy picking up.
Alison's experiences were harrowing, and I had to admire her strength in the face of such terrible times. Her daughter was her driving force and her devotion was obvious. But the surprise I got with Rob really made me fall for him in a big way. I do think the portrayal of his fears about starting a relationship with the emotionally damaged single mother was very well done and I would say very real.
I was rooting for this couple from the start and hope we get to see them again in a future book. I need to see them deliriously happy a few years down the line. They both deserve that.
Please Ms Holland, at least a short with Rob and Alison.......
