Holy OMG this book!!!!! So, normally in my reviews I like to give a little information about the characters BUT there is no way I can do it with this book because I don't want to give anything away.

If I thought that for one second I was hooked at the beginning of this book I was dead wrong because BOOM part two happens and I'm like WHAT!!!!??

To say I could not put this book down is a huge understatement, I'm talking every time I had to put it down I wanted to cry.

I love K. Webster's writing and her storylines are so amazing, I'm still trying to figure out how she comes up with this stuff.

I LOVED the characters and I LOVED to hate one in particular. I will warn you, there is a cliffhanger and normally I don't like them, but to be honest I was so glad for this one! I literally said out loud, "YES! I get more of this story!" I am so excited to find out what happens next and can't wait to read it!!

You know when you try to write a review but no thoughts will come even though you loved the book, that you are full of feelings. It’s hard to put feelings into words and I think that’s the problem I’m having now because this book took me on an emotional roller coaster. One minute I was appalled, then I was laughing, holding my breath, melting, crying and then that OMG NO moment at the end. This book makes you feel all that and more, it makes you feel everything! It is a part one of what I’m praying is a duet and all I can do is COUNT the days until March 29. This is one of those books that impacts you so much that you will not soon forget it, if ever. WAR just refuses to become a memory and for me it has become an OBSESSION. If you like books that make you feel, you need to read this book, after reading the author’s warning.

This is War, Baby is very well written. Everything about it was flawless. The author uses comparisons that quite honestly left me breathless. But more than that it put me in the story and forced me to feel the characters’ emotions and that was an emotional roller coaster of epic proportions. The writing blew me away in the first book that I read by this author and then again in this book. This is only my second book by Ms. Webster and it will not be my last. I may not read anything else until I’ve devoured her other books. I’m having trouble forming sentences so the bottom line is the writing was flawless. The dialogue was flawless. The author used multiple POV and it was flawless. There were absolutely NO inconsistencies and I’m here to tell you that is unusual.
The mechanics of writing, grammar, and word building was flawless as well.

Unfortunately I am in the minority regarding my thought about this story. For one the character's actions did not make sense to me. Gabe claims to love Baylee but kidnaps her, sexually assaults her including taking her virginity and sells her off to the highest bidder. Baylee is fickle. She keep changing who is wants and who she is in love within a very short period of time. First it is her boyfriend, then days later it is Gabe and then War. War must be a billionaire and have an endless supply of money because he gives her parents $50K on a daily or weekly basis.

Also the story dragged to me. It took awhile for me to finish the book. I did not find the smex scenes good. Rather were some a turn off for me and the others were medicore even those with War. The story ended on a cliffhanger and I will not be reading the next book.

As soon as I finished this book I wrote this on Goodreads "I have no words. This book was so incredible I don't know how to write a review. As soon as I can gather my thoughts about the amazingness I just read, I will write a full review." In some ways I still feel like that. How am I going to review this and express the amazingness without being spoilery? I will say that it is not an easy read and please heed the following warning : "This is War, Baby is a dark romance. A really dark one. So dark you’re going to wish you had a flashlight to see yourself to the end and someone to hold your hand. Human trafficking, dubious consent, and strong sexual themes that could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. This story is NOT for everyone."

My Thoughts
This book starts off like any romance involving high school age people, but you are quickly thrown for a loop. This part of the story was seriously hard to read, but at the same time I was compelled to keep reading because of Baylee. I loved her character from the start. She was strong, smart and seeing the events through her eyes made the story a little bit easier to read.

So the basics... she was kidnapped by a crazy, intense, messed up man who has claimed her as his own. He will stop at nothing to keep her, and that is where he is truly terrifying. Enter War the man she was sold to. This part of the story was still hard to read but in a different way. War is a broken man that also happens to be a gorgeous rich young man who has a slew of mental issues and is in a prison of his fears and obsession.

War... I loved War. His obsessions were debilitating and it was heartbreaking. Ever time we got to see the world through his POV I fell a little harder for him.
