My son picked out for his birthday gift. It is very sturdy, makes cool sounds, and looks really nice. The problem is in design. Over half of his trains do NOT fit thru the rollers and trains have to by-pass the car wash. He gets very frustrated trying to play with this toy. Having the rollers on some sort of spring device that would allow for expansion as slightly larger engines go thru would have solved the problem. Once more this reinforces the declining quality of the newer Thomas Train products. NOT HAPPY >_<

I give Thomas the Tank Engine, Sir Topham Hatt and the entire island of Sodor a big fat "F" on this toy. The trains don't fit through. Percy fits and he's the smallest, but not even our Thomas can fit through. The sounds it makes are cute and there is a see-through "water and bubbles" on the roof, but otherwise this toys is a complete dud! This toy makes a better barricade than it does a train wash! I wish I could get my money back!

My son loves Thomas the Tank Engine so we have a bunch of the different "accessories" that go with his Thomas train set. For the most part I have been impressed with all the Thomas "stuff" but this one is the stand-out exception. I wish I had read the reviews here before we bought this, because everyone else is right. Only the small engines fit through this thing. None of the freight cars fit and many of the large engines don't fit either. I would only recommend this for someone who has Unless you a set-up large enough that you can have this on it's own side track so you can send the small engines through while having the freight cars and large engines bypass it.

We have an extensive collection of tracks, structures and engines. We added the wash down for Christmas, and about half of our engines and various other Thomas cars won't fit through the wash down. I don't it would have difficult to have made it more flexible, but because it's not we don't use it much. If we put it in line with the tracks, too many of the engines have to be taken off the tracks to get around it.

We just bought this for my son's Thomas the train table. We loved the idea of a little engine wash after a muddy drive through Morgan's Mine or the Pig Farm. Well, it's become more of a hassle than it was worth. As said in other reviews, this engine wash doesn't even fit at least half of the engines and cars that we have. They're all made by the same company so I'm not sure why Learning Curve would have made the Engine Wash this way. You cannot even crank the ones that do fit through and it has just resulted in frustration for my toddler and for me. We just received it yesterday and are preparing to remove it from the train table. The reason I gave it two stars instead of one for fun level is because he does like the idea of the noise with the cleaning but even that button is in an awkward place and my son never remembers it's there. Very disappointing Learning Curve when most everything else we have for the table is great.

What a disappointment. This was a gift for my son. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the rollers aren't spaced out enough for 95% of the trains we have to roll through it. Who on God's green earth would give this piece of crap the green light? Shame on the manufacturers.

I would have returned it in a heartbeat, but it was a Christmas gift and we destroyed the box opening it up. Most other Thomas toys I've seen work just fine. (they should work fine, they're marked up about 500%, right?) I'm scratching my head on this one.

If I haven't been clear enough, don't buy this overpriced piece of doggie doo-doo for your little ones!

And to the designers, I hope you get chronic bronchitis. You suck!

Like many other reviewers, this seemed like a natural upgrade, but it just doesn't work. We thought it would be great to add an opportunity for a little more imaginative play now that our 3 year old is getting more creative with his track layout. Unfortunately, only one of our Thomas engines fits well in the wash, and many of the other Sodor characters and our Brio trains don't fit at all. The rollers are too stiff and inflexible, and the plastic gears that turn the rollers slip too easily to force a poor-fitting train through. I would not recommend that anyone waste their money on this toy.

This was a big request on my children's wish list this year. I was a little surprised that the rollers are a very stiff foam, with very little give to them. We've found that many of the trains and cars in our collection, most of them also Thomas, do not fit through the washer. That was a big disappointment. The ones that do fit through need to be pushed- you can't use the crank to move them along very well. However, the sounds and wishy-washy suds window were a big hit.
