Sturdy and Durable

I played a cop as an extra on a TV show, and the Gen-flex2 boots were provided by wardrobe for the role. I fell in love with them, and had to get my own pair. They look great. The zipper side makes putting them on and off a cinch. Expect them to squeak fairly loud during the break-in process. My plan was to wear them occasionally during bad weather, however they quickly became my daily work shoe. Comfortable, sturdy, and a conversation piece. Be prepared for a chafing rash on your legs if you wear short socks. I have since purchased calf length socks to stop the rubbing.

If you are a first responder shopping for boots, looking for durability bc the others fall apart , want a leather boot and want a nice look. The thorogood Paratrooper is my personal pick.

Question now is , do I buy the thorogood paratrooper or rocky paratrooper? I can tell you, the thorogood is an upgrade from the Rocky Paratrooper. My fire dept has ordered the rocky paratrooper for a long time . Although they lasted forever, I quit wearing them bc they would kill my back, uncomfortable, rub my leg raw by the zipper (no liner/just leather) and were kinda heavy . I started buying other brands and I’ve worn out Bates, Rocky Wellington’s, Rocky zip up , under armor, 5.11 and more. I almost went back to the Rocky paratrooper bc “they do last” but a co worker put me on the thorogood paratrooper. I don’t have a lot of miles on the thorogood boots , but I can tell you , the outer soles are better , the Added liner inside around the leg/ankle is a thumbs up and I feel they are more comfortable than the rocky paratrooper. They are prob the same weight.
Comparing to others... Are they a tad heavy compared to other “tactical” boots ? Yes.
Are there Others boots more comfortable than these? Yes, but these are not uncomfortable and I’m telling you , the durability will outlast any other boot . If you feel they are slightly Uncomfortable, replace the inner soles with a quality sole and they will be the absolute best boot you will ever buy.
I plan to buy new inner soles after a year . I’m confident I won’t need a new pair of boots for Two or more years .
