God, it makes me want to go back in time. If only these were are biggest problems and THIS was the world that still existed. I saw California 30 years ago to this day and it was glorious. Long Live California and may it show up again...one day. Tina Louise was worth the price of admission alone, along with Gilligan.

So I really did not know what to expect at all. I didn't know if I should think along the ways of Frankie and Annette or something else. But what a cast in this 1964 fun beach movie. Don't get me wrong, this is typical of the genre and not much is new but James Darren, Pamela Tiffin, Bob Denver, Nance Sinatra, Ellen Burstyn and a cameo by George Raft makes this a couple steps up. James Darren is rich and he is dating a poor girl but his Grandfather does not want her around at all so he does all he can to sabotage the relationship. There is a guy in this named Woody Woodbury he is pretty funny and did I mention Paul LYnde? Lots of fun to watch.

This film is actually one of the better efforts in this admittedly mediocre genere of "60's Surf Movies". Great locations, halfway-decent surfing footage with some of the best surfers of the era, and a story line that finds a way to include Woody Woodbury and Paul Lynde help polish this forgotten gem. Don't get me wrong, Masterpiece Theatre this is most certainly not, but it is a fun watch.
