"Stephens has perfectly and with gut-wrenching honesty portrayed the reality of a love triangle, and the mess that ensues when bonds are severed and new ones are formed. What happens when you find your soul mate at the worst possible time, in the least expected place? What if being with that person means doing the most wrong thing you've ever done? Thoughtless is one of those books that leaves you thinking about these questions, the characters and their choices for days if not weeks after reading." -- Tammara Webber, author of Easy
"This story tears your heart right out! The steamy scenes will get your blood boiling and the gut-wrenching emotional turmoil will bring tears cascading. If you're a fan of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, I'd highly recommend this read! It's messy, dirty, raw, REAL! The story is beautifully written and keeps you interested with every turn of the page." -- Book Snobs Blog
"This book has climbed right to the top of my list of favorites this summer and made itself cozy there." -- A Turn of Page

"From page one, this book is impossible to put down." -- Abbi Glines, author of While It Lasts

The other characters in this book were fine and the band members were very enjoyable, I liked them all. The funny moments with the band, the intimate scenes between Kellan & Kiera and the way it describes Kellan singing & performing, along with the lyrics the author wrote, is what gives this book a 1 star.
This whole book overall was extremely frustrating to read (and not because of the cheating). I just wanted to be done with it. I don’t even want to bother with the rest of the series. The author wrote 500+ pages of nothing.
Next we have the cheating. I was actually okay with that at first, but then she kept wavering between the two guys so much that her indecisiveness got on my nerves. I would have had more respect for her if she had just admitted to herself that she wanted both guys. I could have handled her selfishness much better if she hadn't been so clingy and annoying. She was constantly crying over having two hot men in love with her. I know that's insensitive of me, but Kiera's behavior had me rolling my eyes a lot.
On the plus side, her sex scenes with Kellan were smoking hot. I finally understand why readers will overlook ridiculous heroines or plots if they are into the love interest. Christian Grey didn't do it for me, but he did it for millions of other women. I get it now.
I didn't, however, rate it five stars only because of Kellan. As I got further into the book, I realized how different it was. This is not something that I've read before. In every other book with cheating, it is justified with the heroine's boyfriend being abusive or a cheater himself. Not here. Denny is a genuinely loving and faithful boyfriend. Kiera has no valid excuse for cheating on him. She just succumbs to her lust for Kellan. Then she tries to fight it, but she reaches new heights of ridiculousness in this section of the book by constantly cuddling with him while she is supposedly wanting to be just friends. Of course, she succumbs to lust again. She really becomes maddening when she realizes that she is in love with him but can't bring herself to let go of Denny. Talk about frustration for the reader! No wonder so many of them hate Kiera.
Here's the thing though. There are lots of people like Kiera in the world, both female and male versions of her. This happens every day in the real world, so this is one of the most realistic romance novels I have ever read. People have affairs, sometimes for years, without ending their current romantic relationships. It's not easy to leave someone you've been with for years, and it's even harder to admit that you've betrayed them. That doesn't excuse it or justify it either, and the author wasn't trying to do that. She chose to unflinchingly tell this story and show all the selfishness, bad decisions, cowardice, and hurt. I give props to this author for not writing the same old romantic fantasy.

Kiera came across as a rather needy, bitchy and spoilt person who was also judgemental with others, where really she had no right to be. She treated Kellan very badly, leading him on then rejecting him - making excuses for her own behaviour and casting blame on Kellan, frequently - so much so I wanted him to reject her and find someone else to love, even though I love to read a HEA.
As for Denny - He was "just" there and didn't seem to have any personality beyond pleasing Kiera. He also took rather a long time to realise the betrayal of his friend and girlfriend when the clues where there in front of his face .When he did, however, poor Kellan got all the blame and violence (which was disturbing and over the top) whilst Keira was not even tackled for her part in the affair which I found strange.
Maybe it's me but in most of the similar stories I read the most of the females come across as selfish, needy and bitchy and I just wish I could find a story where females are written in a better light but still are torn between the two men she loved.
The story basically starts off with Kiera moving to Seattle to be with her boyfriend Denny, who has recently accepted an internship in the city. This is where she meets the Rock god, Kellan.
Denny is unexpectedly forced away for 2 months for work, which leaves Kiera upset and distraught at being left in a strange city all alone. Her “friendship” with Kellan turns into something more with “ innocent” flirting, that one night leads to a sexual drunken encounter with Kellan.
Kellan goes through the emotions of cold, sarcastic and back to loving again after their encounter. Denny is now home and Kiera falls back into his arms. This is the first place I wanted to scream at her! I mean seriously! Even at this point you all knew that Kellan felt more for her than his usual one nighters.
Kellan is heartbroken and decides to leave as he just can’t watch Denny and Kiera together. She begs him to stay selfishly. This leads to an explosive sex scene in the espresso stand. The chemistry is palpable between them, but Kiera leaves him cold, when she leaves him for Denny, AGAIN!
The back and forth friendly flirting takes up a large chunk of the book until Anna, Kiera’s sister turns up for the weekend.
Anna is attracted to Kellan and Kiera fizzles with silent rage. She doesn’t know why? Seriously, uh I don’t know?? Maybe because you are in love with him, you stupid girl! They all go out clubbing, Denny leaves her alone on the dancefloor and she is approached by Kellan. Dirty Dancing doesn’t have a look in. Sexy gyrating leads to Kiera trying to strip the clothing off him. This was so hot!! Kellan escapes away from her as Denny re-emerges.
Kiera made a huge mistake here in my opinion. She went home and had sex with Denny but mentally it was Kellan she was with. Does this not tell her something?? Jeeee-Whizz that girl can be thick!
This all blows everything to a head where Kellan calls it off, but in Kiera’s mind Kellan slept with her sister that night. Talk about a immature? Kellan starts “dating” again. Yeah, ok if your idea of dating is sleeping with a different girl every night.
Everything comes to a head when Keira can take no more and blows at him at Pete’s bar. She slaps him very hard after a crude comment. Kellan finally breaks down in the back room after an intense exchanging of words.
“I’m so in love with you, Kiera. I’ve missed you so much. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry i say awful thing to you. I’m sorry I lied about your sister. I never touched her. I promised you I wouldn’t. I couldn’t let you know..how much I adore you…how much you hurt me”
You think it’s a happy ever after there, right? WRONG!! She goes between the two still back and forth. I really felt every emotion that Kellan felt. I bawled like a little girl for him, I felt pure rage for him. I wanted to smack the living daylights out of her.
She picked Kellan. Then she picked Denny. GOD GIRL GET IT TOGETHER!! Until finally Denny found out. Not from Keira telling him either. The showdown led to Keira protecting Kellan from a blow from Denny which she took, this led her to a stay in hospital.
Denny leaves her. Kellan leaves her. Although, I felt she deserved it, I was sad for Kellan, you could obviously see that Keira was his world.
Anyway, Keira moves into a new flat. She’s lost without Kellan. She is the depths of depression. She finally realises she loves him. Only took you how long?? Anna takes her to a show and her heart breaks at the melancholy of Kellan’s singing. She finally convinces him that its him she wants, forever.
So, this book grabbed my heart and pulled it clean out of my chest and stamped all over it. So far this is the only book to make me majorly cry and hurt for the characters. I love Kellan!! He is the man whore of all man whores. The hottest fictional rock god of all time. Keira, well I believe she was a naive girl who probably felt lost and confused in her feelings for both men. I could of given this book 10 stars. I need a minute!
To be honest Kellan himself is also pretty lazily written, we don't really see him have any interactions or life outside of playing at Pete's and sleeping with girls. Also am I the only one who finds it creepy that we're supposed to move past the fact that Griffin constantly sexually harasses/assualts women, like it's just part of being a band member?
Anyway, I really don't understand the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I couldn't recommend this book less!
The first thing I noticed was how long the book is; at nearly 400 pages,it's quite a bit longer than a lot of the Romance books I read. However, the story was written well, and it didn't feel like a chore to get through all of the pages. In fact, I think that the length of the book helped to create tension between the characters, which definitely made the story more interesting and more believable.
I really felt sorry for Denny, as he's always put Kiera first before himself, and the one time that he doesn't, he feels really guilty and is determined to make it up to her. However, this makes Kiera feel unwanted and pushes her into the arms of Kellan, who's more than willing to oblige. But it's clear how bad Kellan feels for betraying Denny, as Denny helped him through a tough time and is one of his closest friends. Of course, Kiera is left feeling confused, having feelings for two men and not knowing who to choose. She knows that she'll have to hurt one of them in order to choose, so she's left with a difficult decision.
I really enjoyed this book and thought that the building tension between the three main characters was great. Although I loved the story, at times I found myself getting frustrated with Kiera as most of the story was centered around her inability to choose between Denny or Kellan. After a while she started to get on my nerves and I found myself wanting to shout, 'Just choose someone!', at her. I really liked the ending and wasn't expecting what happened, but the gradually building tension lead up to an explosive ending, and finally, Kiera has to make a choice.
Everyone's screaming at my review, choose kellen!!
I know I loved him too BUT I also loved Denny I'm TORN.
oh my freaking God this book is amazing!!
Loved it and was dreading all the way to the end because it had to end.
I hate cheating in books especially when the one being dumped on is a nice as Denny!
I know I know you can't help who you fall in love with.
I loved keira and totally understood her predicament. she just couldn't choose! I COULDN'T EITHER! she loves Denny, her loyal beautiful boyfriend (she's been with him forever he's her 1st love, she's his heart) but then she has also fallen in love with kellen the gorgeous bad boy rock star who just wouldn't take no.
I was like "stay with good old Denny" but then in the next breathe I was like "rip kellens clothes off"
Crazy i know I was literally shouting at my kindle, haha
I've really got emotionally attached to these characters and felt sorry for Denny and kellen both loving the same girl and she loving them both.
What a horrible love triangle!
But obviously there only can be 1 winner!!
Who will Keira choose??
This book was a angsty, exciting, heartbreaking and it had me on edge of my seat.
you just can't put it down!
And I can't wait to devour book 2....EFFORTLESS.(as soon as I finish this review I'll begin it)
