I came across this book by accident on google while looking up something else and immediately became obsessed with owning it, after a bit of research I was pleased I could purchase it what seems to be directly from the artist/publisher.
I've shown this book to most of my designer friends and keep it handy for times I hit a brick wall while thumbnailing. I feel my own work has gotten a lot more dynamic since playing with this method of tiny light/dark studies in the initial composition stage. Thanks Joko!
This book is filled to overflowing with great ideas and great drawings. Budiono's understanding of perspective, form, and value pattern are evident in each thumbnail. He shows everything from atmospheric perspective to 3-point and 5-point (!) perspective in this book!
This is a book of thumbnails. The drawings are rough, as they should be, to teach the beginning artist, and to remind the seasoned pro, how to create good compositions and to use all the basic art skills to great effect.
This book gets the highest recommendation and should be on your shelf next to the other essential how to art books.
