The nightmare has just begun... your world has changed forever. Evil is beyond the reach of no man.â But can a man remove himself beyond the reach of evil?â Kevin asked. Indeed,â Dr. Francis said. Can man step beyond evilâs reach? I think not. Not in this lifetime.â Then all men are condemned to a life of evil,â Kevin said. A lifetime struggle with evil, not a life of evil,â Dr. Francis clarified. Imagine answering your cell phone one day to a male voice that gives you three minutes to confess your sin. If you donât, the madman, Slater, will blow your car to smithereens. You barely manage to exit heavy traffic and ditch the car when, precisely three minutes later, your car blows sky high. The media and police descend on the scene; your world has just changed forever. So begins the nightmare that grows with progressively higher stakes. There Ãs another phone call, another riddle. The cycle will not stop until the world discovers the secret of your sin, but you donât have a clue what that sin is. If not for Jennifer, the brilliant FBI agent working to corner Slater, you would indeed go mad.

I gave "Three" four stars because didn't appreciate the characters. They were rather forgettable...not much depth, not well developed or flawed with a buttload of cliches. This is reconciled some through the ending...you'll understand what I mean when you get to the end. While the characters are on the shallow side, this book is still worth your time and you'll love it! :D
I find Ted Dekker to be a very observant world traveler, who has the unique ability to traverse this world and view the journey through a very unique set of eyes. Through his vision, we are able to see the world in a more profound and sacred way. Through the darkness, we find light. Through hate, we find love. Through death, we find life.
Sometimes, those who are closest to the truth, lose sight of what they see; and it takes someone who has been uprooted from the soil and cast into the darkness to shine that light upon us. This is the gift of Ted Dekker.
Rather than have this be a singular review of this one novel, I would like to make this review a summation of all of Ted Dekker's novels. Buy them and read them all. You will be touched beyond imagination. Joy and laughter, sorrow and tears will both intermingle within your soul; and your heart's door will be opened by the love and light that Ted Dekker delivers through his writing. He truly has a gifted pen, and all of his novels are superb examples of God's glorious grace.
Dekker's hand has penned some of the most adrenaline-packed stories imaginable. His characters are extraordinarily unforgettable and the twists and turns will keep you guessing until the very end.
If you are looking for pristine examples of the neverending battle between good and evil, you will find them in each of Ted Dekker's novels.
