I knew this book was going to be great. From the moment I read the synopsis, my expectations went from "looking forward to read it" to "HIGH ALERT, CANT WAIT FOR THE BOOK TO COME OUT" and boy, it didn't disappoint.
While I enjoyed "Alex and Ryan" story VERY MUCH, I LOVED the way this book was written. This is the third book I read this week, which intertwines the story from the first book with the second, as if they were happening simultaneously. It is a must, to read the first book "RIDE" Otherwise, the reader Might be kind of lost and will not appreciate the writing or the story as much.
The story of Alex and Ryan in "Ride" was one full of anxiety, and danger, intrigue, and even kind of a prohibit love, (which I loved by the way). However, the story of Nicole and Duke...despite the continuous frame with the mafia drama, it had another hue. It is based more on the insecurities, lack of confidence, lack of commitment and compromise. Two strong personalities Competing among each other to proof the other one wrong or weaker, just because neither of them want to budge.
I couldn't put it down. I spent an entire day reading this book non stopped, and when I finished, I wanted more. Not even the cliffhanger made me angry, because my mind was still reeling with the story.
I hope, no...I know! the next book will be as good as this one. Kudos for you Mrs. Emery.
