I started this book yesterday and couldn't stop until I finished sometime in the wee hours of the morning. Then I wanted to know what happened to the characters next so I ordered the sequel from my Kindle right then and there. It was less wee-er when I finally pulled myself from the story and forced myself to sleep.
This was a study in fiction of the herstory of women over the last 100 years. There is a male who grows; there's hope. All of the characters seem real flawed but unique.
The best of the story is the threads one must always try to follow in time, full of 'what if's and the wondering, what would I do in this case? What will happen if they try to change time... or even if it could work for them at all.
My questions have only multiplied so I need to go read Book Two. I think anyone would like this book, but important for womyn to read.
In the year 1910, Margaret lives at home with her parents and is about to become engaged to Jasper. A man she likes and respects but does not love. On the day that Jasper is proposing, Margaret and Jasper suddenly find themselves facing a strange woman, Pam and the year is 2010.
Pam had been reading a rhyme from a book she had picked up earlier titled Magical Moon Rhymes For All Times, when two strangers appeared from no where in front of her.
What does this mean? Are Margaret and Jasper stuck in 2010?
When Robin appears in answer to Pam's frantic calls, the four people try to make sense of what has occurred. When it becomes apparent that Margaret and Jasper have travelled through time, Pam has to find a way to get them back to 1910. They find out that they have to wait a month until the next lunar cycle for the rhyme to work.
During this month, Pam and Jasper fall in love. Unknown to them at the time, Robin and Margaret have also fallen in love. How can each couple bear to be parted? But they know they must. Heart breaking as it is, they dare not try to alter time.
This is a lovely well written book of timeless forbidden love. The story goes between 1910 and 2010 with ease and is set in Canada. The four characters interact really well together after they got to know each other and to learn to trust.
This is the first book in a series and has got off to an excellent start. Once started I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I can't wait to see which path Sarah is going to have these characters follow. I hope the sequel isn't too long in being published.
A great story about a woman and her friend who accidentally bring to the future a couple from the past and how they learn about love, a different era and what true love is. How will they get back to their own time and will they be able to stay.
I enjoyed reading this book so much, was set out easily to read and the characters very realistic
I ope you enjoy I too
"Threaded through Time" has a planned sequel, which I very much look forward to reading. Sarah Ettritch has proven herself again as a wonderful author whose books can easily capture your heart.
Sarah also has several other wonderful novels available:
"The Salbine Sisters" ~ Available on the Kindle Book store
"The Rymellan Series" - Books 1 & 2" ~ Available on the Kindle Book store.
"The Rymellan Series" - Book 3 is available on her website as a work in progress with quarterly installments.
BTW: editing and ebook-formatting were examplary.
From the first chapter she had me hooked. The twists and turns of this story had me pulling for each of them to get what they truly wanted. This was a well told story, that I didn't want to end. And when it did, I went straight to the Amazon site and purchased the sequel. I loved the characters. I highly recommend this book.
