The description states "Prevents vibration loosening of small screws and fasteners" - with the key being "small screws and fasteners". Don't expect this to hold suspension bolts on your car, Loctite has many different products and formulas for different size screws, and different adhesion - and it is best to "overshoot" the expectation so you don't expect it to hold in critical applications. Some of the things I use this for - holding the screws for the wheels on my inline skates, holding screws / caps on my wood planes, holding the screws on hockey helmets, holding screws / fasteners on my espresso machines - among other applications. In all cases the screws are small and don't undergo a lot of stress or torque. Recommended as long as used in the right application. Thanks for reading. Most manly and enjoyable things tend to vibrate and rattle, especially while making noise. My Harley Davidson caused my vision to blur with images of Americana every time I opened the throttle. While lost in one such reverie, I lost a foot peg because the sound of America had loosened screws and bolts all across my bike. I experienced this problem repeatedly _until_ I was introduced to this fantastic substance. Just a dab of it along the threads provides the necessary grip to discourage screws from loosening. All of your parts will still be there when you arrive at your destination. This works for everything that has screws and experiences vibration. Bicycle fender? Put some of this on the screws and the bike will rust into a hulk or get stolen before you have to worry about those screws coming out. Lawn blowers. Fans. It's quite versatile. It's important to stress that this is a worthwhile product. Simply put, it's a watery colored glue. My first thought was "Can't I just use something else?". Sure you can, but it won't work as well. If you use anything stronger than this, that screw may never turn again. The necessary forces can just shear off the head of the screw. Less than ideal. Too thick and it won't follow the threads without applying it with a brush. If it doesn't follow the threads, it will come off and surround the screw head. By JJCEO on February 7, 2016 Size: 6 Milliliter Verified Purchase I started using Loctite products over 45 years ago and I learned how well it performed while assembling aluminum parts for instrumentation. I now use it on my guns as I assemble them to prevent parts from coming loose from shock and vibration. I just put together a new AR15 build and I used it all over the gun for the accessory parts. I installed a new Magpul MIAD pistol grip, a Magpul vertical rail grip, a tactical flashlight, a Magpul front and rear MBUS set of sights, a Vortex 3X flip up scope and a Daniels Defense Omega Free floating hand guard quad rail. All of the screws and Allen head screws had Loctite applied as I did the assembly. I even applied it to the mounting screws on the Aimpoint Pro red dot sight. I like the blue Loctite as it helps to hold the screws more securely in place and helps to prevent corrosion which is important on a rifle or gun. The blue formulation locks the parts in place but you can still take the gun apart when you need to. I recommend that you not use the red Loctite on gun assembly and it is very difficult to take apart as it has a much stronger holding power. This allows for is to create a product that has a longer life. But we had a slight problem with the screws coming loose in certain circumstances. So now we use one of three different loctite threadlockers (based on the usage that our product will get). This allows us to still use screws, and to unscrew the screw it with a little extra work. Couldn't use it at work because it didn't have the right pedigree and certification papers so I took it home. Well now it's about 10 years later and I am buying another. Much easier to use than the liquid and less of it spills so it lasts about as long as a medium sized bottle. It's worth the extra money versus the liquid, don't worry about the weight differential. Just roll the screw around on the end of the stick and you're done. 'Blue' is nice compromise between keeping bolts tight and getting then off later. I use it for nearly everything on my Jeep to keep them from rattling loose on the trail. 'Red' is very strong and you will ruin small bolts, larger bolts 3/8 and up will require heat to loosen, blue - no heat and no ruined bolts.
