The material is fairly light weight, but so far seems durable itself; though I have not subjected them to my work environment or other strenuous activities. The belt loops are sufficient in number, but quite narrow. Belt loops are about 1 3/4", maybe a hair more. The pockets are SHALLOW to begin with. Access to the pockets is from the SIDE then down instead of a direct vertical path; sit back too much and keys, cell, etc can easily slip out. Stitching quality on the bottom of leg opening is barely adequate; several threads came loose after being worn/washed a couple times at most. But since then no real further deterioration. Other stitching appears quite adequate.
The back pocket flaps are kind of hokey to me; I just don't think they add much function or style. Speaking of hokey, there is a red, white and blue star, "patriotic" theme for the pocket fabric of these "Made in China" shorts.
For the price, I think the shorts are a good deal.
Almost forgot, the inseam is 9" for the 32" waist. (So many sites/product descriptions do not include the inseam dimension - anyone else ever notice?) When I buy shorts I want to KNOW they are shorts, not pants. In my opinion, "shorts" below the knees are not "shorts". If not pants, they are at least "longs".
