This is one of those love it or hate it books because the plot defies belief the further it runs.
For me the most difficult thing was the clueless protagonist who is also remarkably clever at eluding capture and displays superb knowledge beyond his humble calling. The other issue was the behaviour of the villians which I found non-sensical.
That aside, this book just pelted along! It was action from the very beginning. It was this dynamic nature of the novel that caught my interest. I really did not care whether anything made much sense - it was like one of those Hollywood movies where it is the constant movement, constant threats, constant dodging and near misses that makes it fun.
Other reviewers have spoken of typos and grammar errors. Cannot say I noticed many, but then I only recently downloaded it to my kindle and it may be a newer better edited version.
OK - so here it is - expectations managed. If you just want a fun, furious read then this is for you. Personally I enjoyed it.
This is also a cliffhanger, so the story doesn't really end with the last page. Anyway, I finished it but won't follow through to the next book.
I hope you decide to read the sample and see for yourself that this book is well worth it. My only wish is that more authors would make their books available quickly while still remaining engaging and exciting!
Jonas Saul is definitely one to keep a close eye on!
It was well written, and had a good pace to it. You could almost feel the frustration and stress of the main character as he realised in a few short hours his life as he knew it had been turned upside down.
recommended for those who like the adventure/action thriller which pulls no punches with underlying menace.
