Three of Hearts: Seth is a family man with honest morals and values, he is devoted to his 3 kids. Seth is alone raising his kids because his wife is passed. When he meets Mae he is immediately attracted to her full figure and all her jiggling parts, and let me just say that I LOVE that we have a book where the female is actually not perfect, she doesn't have a perfect body, but Seth sees her charm. Anyways this book is full of fun and family drama. Seth is sexy and has had his share of females that want to snag him and keep him all to themselves, but he isn't the kind of man that wants a woman for just a fling, Seth is looking for the real thing and but still struggling with the loss of his wife, not wanting to put just anyone in the mix of his family he wants the real thing. Along comes Mae with her Camaro and her full figured self and its instant attraction, I love that Seth is bald too, don't ask me why but the idea of that head in places just makes me all gooey insides, lol. In my mind Seth is massive and tall and oh so naughty. I loved Three of Hearts and the naughty ways of Seth and Mae.
Three of Spades: Dylan! Oh god! Dylan, I feel in love with him and his notorious sex god ways. Dylan meets Natalie under unconventional circumstances that I won't spoil for you. But they begin a relationship that is unique and special in a way that I really enjoyed reading about. And Dylan is of course extremely hot and able to take Natalie on an adventure that she has never experienced before.Read more ›
W. Ferraro's writing has grown by leaps and bounds with this one. This beautifully written love story between plain Natalie Parker and the very sexy and womanizing Dylan Cross had me completely captivated from the very first page!
I love this kind of storyline, where a deception of the heart turns into true love. Dylan is as swoonworthy as they come and it was so great to watch Natalie come out of her cocoon and become the lovely butterfly everyone could see but her. In addition, the secondary characters of CeCe, Wes and even Gloria added a really nice touch to this book. I am hopeful CeCe gets her story told as well.
I simply enjoyed every word and look forward to Three of Diamonds next!
A huge 4 stars from me. Highly recommended!
I started out going to read Breaking Spades earlier this week and realized I hadn't read Books 2 or 3 of this series yet so I was very excited... I've got three books to read... all about the Hamden men. Woohoo!
Anyway... so, we were first introduced to Dylan Cross in the first Hamden series book - Three of Hearts. Notorious playboy and one of Seth's bet friends.
Let's meet Natalie - devoted daughter, kindergarten teacher, nerdy bookworm.
Family drama leads Natalie to do something she never would have done. She goes to a bar hoping to proposition someone to be her boyfriend to make her mom happy. She ends up literally bumping into Dylan and they are both stunned by the other.
These two are total opposites, but something is there and Dylan feels it. He brings Natalie into his circle of friends and finds himself doing things with her that he normally wouldn't do with any other woman. Natalie experiences many firsts with him, including jealousy of other women. They go on dates, he meets her family, he sticks up to her brothers on her behalf.
Good things never last right, and she did expect whatever they had to end, but does it and just what did Dylan write on that piece of paper and seal in that envelope?
All I know is that there were certain places in this book where I actually could here Bruno Mars' song "Just The Way You Are" playing in my head. I fell for Dylan, hook, line and sinker and the last name Cross is no longer related to some billionaire business owner in New York. LOL
