Setting: 1816 Yorkshire and London
Hero: Jack - Recently a marquess to a dilapidated estate with lots of debts.
Heroine: Lia - an illegitimate daughter of the duke of York and an actress/courtesan. Lived with her Grandma in a cottage of the estate.
Ending-4.3*- A heroic HEA. Although her constant insecurity of them being together kinda ruined the moment but fortunately it din't last too long.
Reading Enjoyment:4.5* Her determination to become a courtesan didn't make any sense whatsoever, especially since that's what she didn't want to do in the beginning. This was a sweet friends to lovers story with witty dialogue, hilarious scenarios, drama/kidnapping and steamy romance in a regency setting. I also enjoyed Gillian's character (loved her in the 1st book) good to know she hasn't changed since being a duchess.
Overall rating:4.5 -
