This is one of the most clear and logically laid out books approaching spiritual matters for beginners that I've yet come across. This is a great book to give a friend who is curious about spirituality, either through eastern or western mystical traditions. Well laid out, the subject matter is pleasantly approached, a very positive attitude throughout the book. Very practical! Seems very accurate and holds up against many other teachings of enlightened masters on these subjects.

This one definitely comes under the heading of things I wish someone had told me so simply a long time ago. A great help in shifting perception of things you think you already understand, and a definite companion to The Untethered Soul. Read it.

Concepts clearly defined, processes explained logically, distinctions made between physical and metaphysical (or even metaphorical), and a valuable connection made between choices and outcomes in the context of Love.

It seems like a lot of these newer authors seemed to have simply copied the material of earlier texts and made their own version. Not a problem at all, as I'm sure all these teaching have their origins in such religions as Buddhism. Great text, short read, cuts right to the chase. Easy to read and remember, something a lot of books tend to be hit or miss on, such as the Course itself, as they can be hundreds of pages of very similar material that's hard to differentiate (they even state they do this for a specific reason)

Something a lot of authors are afraid to do is tell you that you need to work with the ego, that simply surrendering to "spiritual will" is more than likely to allow your habitual programming and lower order impulses to just take over. I suppose if you are really disciplined and can dedicate hours a day to silent meditation, or hit such a low point that the doors of the source suddenly open to you, which can happen.... otherwise I would take a more balanced approach to the spiritual journey. Real willpower is required in most cases, since a lot of people driven toward spiritual self help books in general are not happy, well adjusted people with a large social circle and a full life.. they may come to these books because they feel empty or do not have a perfect life, and have genuine issues with their ego programming. Bottom line, undoing habitual programming is like learning any new skill, like say field stripping a weapon... it's all about repetition, repetition, repetition. (called "conscious willpower" in this book) It helps to apply your thoughts in the real world to see real world results too, not just have it be entirely mental like 'the secret' would suggest.

Michael Singer is a very inspiring and intriguing writer. I love his thoughts put to paper. I mull over them even days after finishing his books. This book was quick to the point and made sense to me.

I am very skeptical when people rave about books, how good can they actually be? This book is a great descriptIon of the spiritual aspect of karma, love, and will power. I was able to readjust my thinking, based on looking at the Big Picture, rather than the narrow view. I have been semi-pessimistic and jaded for most of my life, and this book actually allowed me to see that there is a positive side to life. We are more than our bodies, we are eternal souls, that can actually enjoy this life we have. I have a deeper understanding of "life" now, and how to get more enjoyment from it. Once the light comes on, it's pretty simple. This book helped me turn on the light.
