4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 120 ratings

"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is a summer tale published by Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) for the first time in July 1865. Many of the characters and adventures in that book have to with a pack of cards. "Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There" is a winter tale, which Carroll first published in December 1871. In this second tale, the characters and adventures are based on the game of chess. This book contains the famous illustrations of Sir John Tenniel, which first appeared in the original English edition.

Definitely one of my favorites. It's so hard to pick a favorite part but I think if I had to choose I'd pick the lion and the unicorn.

An excellent tale to read to your children. It's a bit confusing at first, but, like all of Carroll's books that I'm familiar with, it gets easier and easier!

Definitely worth the hour it takes to get through this.

This book is a great story and I really like how each little story moves along. This time Alice goes through a looking glass for a whole new adventure in Wonderland. Some characters make a second appearance while there are many new ones to enjoy.

I liked the beautiful drawings and the heavy paper. They make it a charming addition to my library.

My 13 year old grandson is not a reader but he loves to play chess. So, I got him Thru the Looking Glass--which is a CHESS game. The first page of the original book shows a chess board and Lewis Carroll explains all the moves and what pages they are on; so the reader can follow the game. This book reproduces the "Preface to the 1896 Edition" which says "as the chess problem given on the previous page has puzzled some of my readers........" Alas...there is no previous page. My grandson is NOT interested in reading this book and I feel ripped off.

This one was far more clever than the first. Although it took me a while to catch on to the game.

Unfortunately, this version is missing almost all of the illustrations, which are an integral part of the book. And the poetry is not formatted correctly and is in red on my iPad Kindle.Through the Looking Glass [Kindle Edition] by BLTC is the one you want.

Il racconto è bellissimo (sempre che vi piaccia il genere). Purtroppo è evidente che si tratta di pagine fotocopiate, non stampate direttamente. In ogni caso la lettura è stata piacevole.
