Throw in the Vowel

4.2 out of 5 stars 79 customer reviews

Product Description

Play Throw in the Vowel - a new, original word game for Kindle.

Create words by combining the correct sets of letters from two columns. Just select a word's vowels and their matching consonants, and then watch as the completed word appears onscreen. You don't need to rearrange any letters, since the letters from each column occur in the same order as in the completed word. (You'd match RPTN with EUIO to form ERUPTION.) The easy-to-play, matching-game format means no text entry is required. And the excitement increases as the game progresses and a tower of words grows higher.

The game will reveal a correct match if you get stuck, and it even dispenses encouraging comments. See if you can play a perfect game (no mismatches)! Exercise your mind. Can you form all 750 words?

It's perfect for anyone who loves words, word games, brain teasers, or a challenging game to play!

The design of this game is deceptively simple - match a selection of consonants with the right selection of vowels to form a word - but it turns out to be very challenging. I love how when I figure out a match between the two columns, the word appears in all its glory, and I can't imagine why I didn't see it sooner. The controls of the game are easy to learn and pleasing to play. I mainly use my Kindles for reading, but once in a while I like to reboot my brain cells with a vigorous word workout. Throw in the Vowel is made to order for taking a break that refreshes and entertains. Highly recommended!

This game is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I've been playing word games for years, ever since I saw my grandmother working on a crossword puzzle and asked her to show me how. Most new word games are variations on a theme, with different mascots in the background (bees, bears, gophers, etc.), but this one is totally unique.

It seems overly simple when you read the instructions, but it requires you to look at words in a way you've never looked at them before - separated into consonants on one side and vowels on the other. It's challenging, yet not so hard that it's frustrating. I've gotten lost in it a couple of times and I'm really looking forward to taking it on my next plane trip.

If you're into word games, this is a must! Throw in the Vowel

This game makes me think about words in a different way than I'm used to. Easy to play, but with gradually increasing difficulty to keep you challenged. I bet it will improve my Scrabble scores too!

This is one of my favorite Kindle games. In one column there are consonants in order for about 10 words. In the other column are the vowels in order for about 10 words. Match them up. Some are obvious but most aren't. Well worth the price.

It took me a while to really catch on to how it conencted but once i did I find myself unable to put it down, literally. I have gone through the whole game once.....and am now on my second go round but still have forgotten much...This game is one of th neatest and most different I have ever done..What is really crazy is I will think I have one word and yes I will have some of the vowels in an order but the word is as far away from the word i thought I had guess as anything...but the vowels fit the combination...crazy! This is clearly a older teen or adult game. There is no way young people without a great knowledge of words and in some cases just knowing endings of words -- like in a c on the end of a word - often a "i" will fit behind. if you have ng...often a 'ing' word. The consotonats that are Ot, or ET often can become OUT or EAT so you can start there which is interesting. Definitely a great word game if you are not into crosswords and get tired of word search. Jigsaw words is another fascinating one but I have done both of those and they are addictive too but I believe in a little way, this game tops those. I actually had to go on line to find several words for one of those puzzles, seriously.

A tantilizing and addictive puzzle game. I thouroughly enjoyed it start to finish. Only a couple of gripes though. The puzzle did not offer any nature of player progress feedback, which I hope might be addressed in the next revised version. As a former zoo keeper, I had decades ago cared for an 'onager', so when I observed in one of the later puzzles, 'NGR' and 'OAE', I just knew the answer, only to be fouled by the puzzle for a non-existant word. Please find 'ONAGER' listed in any reputable dictionary. Great puzzle otherwise deserving of five stars. Thank you!

I thought I was getting a pleasant little diversion to occupy me for a few minutes. Hah! The joke was on me. The word that should have been used was DDCTN and AIIO. Now I have to spend even more time looking for a similar game to handle my *addiction*.

I was pleased with the challenge of this game. This will not be a game that you will race through, it provide a different challenge than Jumble, using two columns (one side consonants, the other vowels). A nice challenge for your kindle.
