Editorial Reviews

Review

"Thrust was a delightful book to read. Strong willed characters dealing with more then just business transaction. Their whole lives are resting on this deal so to speak and my heart broken for them nearly when we delved into their pasts, their families and saw how they were shaped to become the people that they were today. This book went deeper then I ever thought it could and I love it."

- Tash, Confessions From Romaholics

"Thrust sucks you into the story right away, pulling you into the lives of both of these strong characters and leaving you wondering what's coming next, how things are going to work out. As Marco and Dani grow closer and become more embroiled into an almost battle of wills, its intriguing to see who will give in first."

- Kris, Literary Misfit

"Marco is not the person he may seem in the public, there is more to meet the eye. He's handsome and mysterious, what's not to love about that! Dani is strong, independent person that has had to fight for everything she has. I love that about her. And their relationship is definitely scorching! And I love that just when you think know what will happen next, Sloan surprises you. Marco and Dani are phenomenal and highly recommend this book and author."

- Liz, Liz's Reading Life

"After loving the first book in the Fastlane series, Surge, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Thrust! Especially after the small taste we got of Marco from Surge. I absolutely LOVED every second of this book! The twists and turns kept me on edge the whole time and Dani & Marco's relationship was HOT AS HELL! Yet another unmissable book by Ms Storm!"

About the Author

Sloan Storm is a verbally difficult, yet physically generous, writer who pens imaginative yarns based on dominant men and the women who challenge them. As such, power plays and passion are the heart of each and every story. The writer's creative tendencies may drift as the mood strikes, but the essence of all tales told wind up back at the same place... the polarizing difference between the sexes. After all, what else is there in life?

Playboy Marco is sexy and a straight shooter. He knows what he wants and what he doesn't. He's in a position that he can have anything he wants with the snap of his fingers. And if that wasn't enough, with the death of his father, he's become the most sought after person of interest for investment firms.

Dani is a woman on a mission and a race car stud isn't going to stop her. She doesn't have time to have relationship and her family is sore subject. So why is when she first meets him is she tongue tied and feeling things she's never felt before.

He's taken with her and there is something about her that makes him ask her to attend a gala with him.

It's one night, she can do and close the deal, right?

The more they spend together, the more the lines blur. But how will Dani handle it when someone comes to wreck havoc on her life and tell her things about Marco that she didn't know? Can Marco make things right or is this budding romance over?

This is the second book the Sloan's Fastlane series and what a story it tells. Marco is not the person he may seem in the public, there is more to meet the eye. He's handsome and mysterious, what's not to love about that! Dani is strong, independent person that has had to fight for everything she has. I love that about her. And their relationship is defiantly scorching! And I love that just when you think know what will happen next, Sloan surprises you. Marco and Dani are phenomenal and highly recommend this book and author.

Thrust is the second book in the Fastland series, but it can absolutely be read on it's own without feeling lost.

Marco is a hard sell when it comes to winning him over as a client for her firm, but Dani's career can be made or broken with this signature. Dani could get the partnership she has been working so hard for or end up in the unemployment line. Dani and Marco hit it off, but just when she thinks she has the upper-hand it is taken away and then secrets come out and lives will be changed.

Thrust is a fast-paced story that has enough twists to keep you guessing, an interesting story line, and as with most good stories a person that you will just love to hate.

I read this entire thing front to back, and it's the first time reading this author. The story wasn't terrible, as a matter of fact the story was quite good, no terrible editing or grammar, but I just couldn't get into it. I couldn't connect to the characters, or the story. I wasn't connected to them enough to care. Maybe it was just this story.

I received an advance copy of this book for an honest review. The characters were interesting - Marco and Dani. Some of the characters from book one are mentioned but if you haven't read it, it is not hurting anything because it stands alone.

Dani is an investment banker for high end clients who moved up the ranks at her firm by hard work. Marco is a top Formula One race car driver worth billions. Dani has to convince Marco to invest his money in the hands of her firm and why he should use her firm. He implies to her that Trust is what he is looking for with an investment firm. And the investment firms have been circling him like a flock of seagulls since his father's death. Marco's father Antonio was a real estate and shipping mogul, leaving everything to Marco. Dani and Marco attend an awards gala event together. She thinks they will be discussing business but Marco has other ideas. When they leave, they end up back at Marco's villa. As soon as they enter they notice a woman sitting on his couch. Serena makes her way toward Marco and he inquiries about why she is there in his home. Marco tells Serena to leave and that they are not together any longer. Dani assumes that Serena is Marco's girlfriend. Serena decides to leave but tells Dani that Marco is incapable of true love. Marco smooths things over with Dani and tells her she is really tense. He asks Dani about herself and then tells her she cannot expect someone to just sign over billions of dollars to someone he hardly knows. Dani tries to resist Marco but they get to know each other better. She assumed they would discuss business and she would get him to sign with her firm. Marco plays it off and politely sends her on her way back to her hotel telling her that business will have to wait for another day.

I was so excited when I learned that this author was going to release a new book in the Fastlane Series because I loved the first book so much. While I enjoyed the story I had a hard time liking Dani, the heroine in the story. We are suppose to believe that she is such a strong bright woman who has bought millions of dollars into the investment firm she works but the two owners bring her in basically tells her that if she doesn't get Marco, our hero, to sign with the firm then she can't have her partnership and it will go to someone who has done much less for the firm and short of actually telling her to sleep with him they make it clear that she must do what it takes to close the deal. When Marco first meet her he knew that he wanted to sleep with her and actually refused to talk business unless she went out with him. To me the owners used her looks to get clients and she came off more of airhead bimbo than an intelligent young woman. I felt that Dani feel right into line with both her bosses and Marco and came off looking like a complete idiot by not telling her bosses off and for falling in bed with Marco especially after meeting Serena. Dani was stronger with her own family ( which she should have been) than with everyone else in her life including her best friend Chloe. ( Don't get me wrong I loved Chloe but I thought the way she really didn't understand or like how Dani treated her family was a little weird especially for a best friend.) The secrets that Dani and Marco kept from each other could destroy their "relationship" was big, well Marco's were Dani's weren't really secrets it was just private stuff about her family. Trust was such a big deal for Marco but he wasn't very trustworthy to me.Read more ›
