High-end 100% metal, 3-pedal pedal set
Realistic, high-end 3-pedal pedal set for PS3 - PS4 - Xbox One – PC.
The T3PA-PRO is compatible with all Thrustmaster T-Series racing wheels*: the T300 RS / T300 Ferrari GTE / T300 Ferrari Integral Racing Wheel Alcantara Edition / T300 Servo Base, T500 RS / Ferrari F1 Wheel Integral T500, T150, and TX Racing Wheel Ferrari 458 Italia Edition/ TX Racing Wheel Servo Base / Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel.
Can also be directly connected to your PC thanks to the T.RJ12 USB ADAPTER*.
In order to adapt to users’ different needs and preferences, the T3PA-PRO is fully adjustable – including each of its 3 pedals: in terms of spacing (3 possible positions per pedal), angle of inclination (2 possible positions per pedal) and height (4 possible positions for the gas pedal / 3 possible positions for the brake and clutch pedals). This adjustability and versatility also includes the pedal set’s base, which features a unique design*, allowing users to select between 2 different positions: floor-mounted position (F1-style), or suspended position (GT-style).
Adjustable pressure force and range of travel for brake pedal
The T3PA-PRO features 2 impressive compression springs: the resulting pressure force is adjustable according to the range of travel allocated to the springs. But Thrustmaster’s latest pedal set doesn’t stop there: it also includes two removable mods, which can be installed directly underneath the brake pedal. Users can therefore adjust the range of travel, pressure force and type of braking feel to best suit their own preferences. This provides a big advantage in racing, since victory so often depends on the brake pedal’s performance.
Compression springs Brake Mod
But Thrustmaster’s latest pedal set doesn’t stop there: it also includes two removable mods, which can be installed directly underneath the brake pedal.
With the first mod (the Spring Brake Mod), composed of an additional compression spring, the pressure force can be adjusted between 30 and 35 pounds.
Conical Rubber Brake Mod
With the second mod (the Conical Rubber Brake Mod), composed of a conical stop made from industrial-grade high-density rubber, the pressure force can be adjusted between 45 and 70 pounds.
Using this mod, users will also enjoy an authentic feel thanks to an ultra-progressive resistance at the end of the pedal’s range of travel.
The spacing and height of the 100% metal pedal set is also fully adjustable and accommodate individual driving preferences by offering 2 positions: 'floor-mounted' F1 style, or 'suspended' GT style. The brake pedal has been given extra attention, with reinforced and adjustable resistance that lets users perfectly tailor their braking with near surgical precision, and which includes a removable mod. A textured foot rest, also crafted entirely of metal, completes the pedal set. Gamers will notice that having 3 pedals at their disposal not only enhances the level of realism, but it also gives them a taste of what's to come with the addition of an independent gear stick, the TH8A.
The Thrustmaster T3PA-PRO 3-Pedal Add-On Pedal Set is a realistic, high-end pedal set that will take your driving experience to a whole new level! It offers 2 different positions (floor-mounted or suspended), 100% metal construction, 100% adjustability, and includes 2 different removable BRAKE MODS. Its unique design allows for 2 different user positions - Floor-mounted (F1-style) and Suspended (GT-style). It features 3 metal pedals, a large metal footrest with non-slip grating, internal and external metal structure, and weighs more than 15 pounds. There is adjustable spacing for each of the 3 pedals (3 possible positions per pedal); adjustable inclination for each of the 3 pedals (2 possible positions per pedal); and adjustable height for each of the 3 pedals (4 possible positions for the gas pedal / 3 positions for the brake and clutch pedals). The T3PA-PRO includes 2 different removable BRAKE MODS that are installed directly underneath the brake pedal - The mods' position can be adjusted, thereby altering the pressure force. The SPRING BRAKE MOD is composed of an additional compression spring while the CONICAL RUBBER BRAKE MOD is composed of a conical stop made from industrial-grade high-density rubber, for an authentic feel and ultra-progressive resistance at the end of the pedal's range of travel. The brake pedal pressure force can be adjusted between 15 lbs. and 22 lbs., according to your preferences (with no BRAKE MOD installed). Using the SPRING BRAKE MOD, the pressure force can be adjusted between 31 lbs. and 35 lbs. With the CONICAL RUBBER BRAKE MOD installed, pressure force can be adjusted between 44 lbs. and 66 lbs. The range of travel can also be adjusted (in all instances with or without a BRAKE MOD installed). Thrustmaster VG Racing Wheel Servo Base for Xbox One
and the pedals being review.
When i got this set out of the box I was immediately pleased with them. The looks alone are phenomenal, made me think it was too good for the use I have for it (well the price covers that). If you are considering this set of pedals it may be because you realize how much fun a good racing sim set up can be and these pedals delivers a huge upgrade from the cheap two pedal set included with the TX wheel. In particular the gas pedal provides much better readings between half way and full throttle, something i could never achieve with the factory two pedal set.
I am not by any means a profesional sim racer and still having this pedals makes Forza 6 a lot more fun. This is my first set with a clutch and initially I though of not using the clutch because it seemed too complex. Turns out the clutch makes the driving a lot more fun and increases the intensity of the race. I am of the mindset that a good racing sim set up delivers tremendous bang for the buck, and after spending a considerable amount in mine I could not be more pleased. I play everyday after work and it provides a huge stress relief in a short amount of time. Even 30 min a day can serve as a nice hobby.
Amazing set, you get what you pay for.
The only downside I can think of, is that an adapter is needed to convert the pedals to a usb signal and it's sold separately. Aside from that, easy 5 stars from me.
The main drawback, as with most mainstream sets of controller pedals is that it uses a spring to simulate brake-pedal resistance and translates pedal travel into braking power. This neither feels like, nor operates like a real automobile. It comes with a couple of little doo-dads that you can insert into the brake pedal to arguably make it feel more progressive and realistic.
I'd like to try something with a load-cell instead of a spring to see how much of an improvement that would make.
It's nice to see mostly all metal than plastic used in the construction of these pedals which adds to their hefty weight which helps keep them stable. The instructions are clear and show you step by step how to use the pedals in two different modes/configurations.
1. Floor-mounted position (F1-style) which is the default configuration out of the box
2. Suspended position (GT/Rally-style) Turning pedal set upside down
Apparently you'll want to pay attention to the guidelines on how and when you power on the pedals so they work correctly when powered up connected to your wheel base. Here are the instructions for doing that:
- Never connect or disconnect the pedal set from the base of the wheel when the wheel is
connected to the console or PC, or during gaming sessions, to avoid calibration problems.
= Always connect the pedal set to the wheel before connecting the wheel to the console or PC.
- Once the wheel has self-calibrated and the game has started, the pedals automatically calibrate
themselves after being pressed a few times.
- Never press on the pedals when the wheel is self-calibrating or when your game is starting up, to
avoid calibration problems.
- If the pedals are not functioning correctly or appear to be improperly calibrated, power off your
console, completely disconnect your wheel, then reconnect all of the cables (including the power
supply cable and the pedal set cable), power the console back on and restart your game.
I followed the connection instructions above and had no problems having the pedals recognized and they worked flawlessly on the first race I played in Forza 6 for Xbox One. You'll want to check both configurations to see which one you prefer and then place/install them to secure them in place. Currently I'm using mine in the default configuration and actually like that arrangement. That's not to say at some point I won't try using them in the 2nd position - Suspended position (GT/Rally-style) turning pedal set upside down. I am 6' 4" tall and use all of the space inside of my home built Ricmotech Racing Simulator Cockpit and for now I like using the pedals in their default configuration.
Can you say "EASY" setup?! Following the instructions for when to plug in the pedal set and then powering on your gaming machine/device they simply worked with no issues while in my first test race using them. They calibrated quickly once I powered on the Xbox One and launched Forza 6 and began my first test race to see how well they worked and how they felt using them. In a word..."AWESOME"!!! They function smoothly and have a positive input recognition with no hesitation at any time (in my experience). I really like the metal construction which gives this pedal set a nice high quality look and feel and they work like a high(er) quality set of pedals should (in my mind). You can remove the pedal face plates and raise them or lower them to suit the feel your looking for and also adjust them side to side if you need more foot room between the gas and brake pedal or the clutch and brake pedal. Thrustmaster includes a set of Allen key's to remove the small face plate screws and instructions are included in the PDF file you'll want to download from the Thrustmaster website. There are no instructions that come with this pedal set so log onto their website and download the instructions from there so you can read up on the different configurations you can choose from. I think moving the pedal face plates around could better fine tune what works best for you individually if needed. For now I'm using mine as they came out of the box and have not had any problems using them as they came from the factory.
Hopefully you'll find what help you may be looking for about these pedals and if your still not sure if you should buy them...ask questions pointed at those people who are really well, schooled in pedals and any other kind of information you may be looking for. Seriously I doubt you'd be disappointed if you decide to purchase this pedal set. For me...they were worth the cost!!
Thank you Thrustmaster and Amazon for making this another great purchasing experience!!
Thrustmaster VG T3PA-PRO 3-Pedal Add-On Set
Are they worth the current cost of $149.99 here on Amazon? Yes they are!! I'd highly recommend this pedal set to anyone not sure if they are really worth the cost and if they will last a good time before issues arise. Factoring in different people using them I'd have to believe they will last a good while ( read - long time) before anything wears out on them...unless of course you just love stomping hard on your pedals then perhaps they might begin to show signs of serious wear and possible performance issues. That said...I seriously doubt that will be the case but I've learned not to say never!! Different people use their equipment differently but if you want to feel good about a purchase you likely wont have to worry about anytime soon...then go ahead and pick this pedal set up and enjoy them as you enjoy playing whatever racing games you like to play.
