After a year of using the backpack that my company gave me to use with my massive Dell Inspiron laptop, I decided to venture into something new and hopefully better. Thule was well acquainted with all uses for pack wear when they designed this jewel.
First, the material. The fabric is sleek and yet shows no signs of wear after a month of use so far. The colors also are indicative the backpack will stand up to dust and grime usually picked up from setting it on the floor and actually USING the pack.
Second, the pockets. They are designed for a purpose. What purpose you choose is your choice, but keep in mind that they were trying to go for what I can only assume to be a minimalistic approach on this. Meaning that they have pockets for what you need, and pouches for things that you always wanted to have but never did. For instance, the tablet pocket is amazing. It is slim so it does not add bulk, and it has a fleece lining to it to help prevent scratches. Above that are two smaller fleece lined pockets for phones, or anything else that is delicate and prone to scratching. The laptop pocket is big enough to fit a 17" macbook according to their specs. I have my fairly thick dell inspiron 17" in the pack, and while snug it provides everything I need. The other pockets include a main middle storage plain and simple. The front pockets have organizers for other small items. The thing I really like about the pockets though is the top zipper pouch for sunglasses and phones. It is so useful for those who travel but do not want to have to bring a clunky glass case with them! It has enough room for my Maui Jim's and my iPhone 7. It is rigid enough that I do not worry about the glasses ever.
Third and last, the profile of the whole pack is superb for air travel. I am a big dude. I have to fight for every inch of leg room both above and below the foot area under the seat in front of me. On packed flights or non-ideal situations, I am forced to put my backpack under the seat in from of me. My old backpack: not a snowball's chance in hell to get my feet in a comfortable position. The Thule Crossover: room for each foot on either side of the pack under the seat in front of me.
Overall, I would say this is a must have for anyone who flies often or who travels in general.
I fit a LARGE high end Lenovo laptop with a 17" screen, plus a mechanical keyboard, random electronics and chargers, tons of clothes, then throw shoes in the little pouch that is formed by the front portion. I've even seen a buddy fit 2 laptops in it. Then you have the hard case portion for glasses or smaller electronics/fragile items.
I had no idea Thule made backpacks, and now I recommend this to everyone when they ask about it. There are a couple other similar models, but this one is the best for a 17" laptop bag.
Or get the similarly priced Swiss Gear/High Sierra and watch it fray after 2 moths of similar usage.
Comfortable all day wear- adjusts well to balance weight
Versatile size- if lightly loaded doesn't wear like a bulky empty backpack, yet expands to fit 2-3 days worth of stuff.
Durable material- resists stains and repels liquid, does not tear easily
Large side drink campartment x2- coffee and water(large hydro flask) thermus no problem, and they don't bob about.
Well padded PC compartment.
Great pocket layout. Awesome for traveling. Separates charges, hygiene products, clothes, documents and small utilities like pocket knife and sunglasses. Also has area you can utilize as a pocket without literally putting stuff inside. Great for a rain jacket or small tarp.
Interior pocket fabric constantly gets caught in the zipper (computer compartment).
Does not stand on its own- always needs to be laying down or propped up against something (but...that's expected as it collapses well)
Does not come with bands to tuck excess straps.
Zipper eyes not suitable to fit a travel lock.
No extra loops

UPDATE 1 AÑO:
A un año de recibir la mochila y estar usándola diario, sigue en perfectas condiciones, es impresionante la calidad.
The bag turned out to be just as described from the seller, brand new, no problem with the postage or packaging! The bag has many spaces for nearly every Apple product tha exists! Plenty of room for other things as well! Very comfortable on the back!!!
One of my best purchases!!!
