On the down side, the urethane coating on the case exterior is highly susceptible to peeling. My case is 9 months old and has numerous places where the urethane coating has been rubbed off or is peeling. This is not simply cosmetic as the peeling coating exposes the interior material, compromising the weather integrity. The zipper is another issue. The zipper coil on my case has started to unravel. This renders the case unusable.
I contacted Thule Customer Service, and I was directed to the CaseLogic warranty/repair. They asked for a couple of photos and an online warranty repair form. A replacement case was sent to me right away. I'll use it until it breaks but will probably not replace it with a Thule case.
What I Like
*The case combines a hard exterior shell with a fully sealed zipper, providing good protection against weather and moisture. It is important to recognize, though, that the case does not have a lot of padding. Anybody who tends to bash their stuff around or is klutzy may want to consider a case with more shock protection.
*Both the laptop compartment and the tablet sleeve have a strap (elastic or Velcro, respectively) to secure the devices placed in them.
*This attaché doesn't look like a typical corporate laptop briefcase. That's good from both a style perspective and a security perspective--let's face it, most standard-issue bags look really dorky and it's always good to obscure that you're carrying expensive electronics.
*There is a fold out area, behind the tablet sleeve, for carrying papers and other odds and ends. It's rather small; don't count on putting bulky files or books in it.
*A removable shoulder strap is included so that the case can be carried hands-free.
I do have a cosmetic issue with the case that is mostly a personal matter. Large Thule logos have been prominently placed on the shoulder strap and on the case itself. While this does not affect the functionality at all, I feel it makes the case a bit obnoxious for business use. Of course, the sort of person who flaunts, say, a Tumi carry-on or an Arc'teryx jacket won't be bothered at all. To each her/his own taste, right?
Bottom line: the TMPA-115 is a nicely designed attaché case for carrying and protecting a laptop and tablet. It is best suited for people who do not need to carry a lot of stuff beyond their electronics. Four stars.
All-in-all, this is not a bad case by an means. The interior design is basic, simple and economizes space nicely. The exterior is made out of a molded hard-foam type material, however, don't be fooled by the photos-- the material *is* in fact pliable. One of my major qualms is that my case arrived with the molded exterior warped due to the fact that the manufacturer is shipping these without filling material to help the case keep it's shape. With continued use, I'm sure that the case will re-shape itself, however, for the cost of this product I would expect this to not be an issue right out of the box. Otherwise, it seems very water-resistant (a huge plus for a commuter) and protective for rubbing/abrasions etc... However, I would not particularly trust this case to protect against major impacts (dropping, stepping on it etc...)
There is a shoulder strap included. Like others have mentioned, the "THULE" logo is prominent both on the outward facing side of the case as well as the shoulder strap itself. For techies who prefer a more conservative look, this may be an aesthetic problem.
For MacBook Air users, I would suggest skipping this case and looking elsewhere. My MacBook Air floats about this case, which in fairness is designed specifically for the bigger, heavier (and thicker) 15" Pro.
I'll probably end up sticking with my usual case as the Thule doesn't particularly offer any advantages over a good ole' $29.99 CaseLogic bag for my purposes.

The Thule Gauntlet TMPA-115 will accept a MacBook Pro 15.6 laptop and it fits like a glove. I would not recommend this case for a laptop larger than 15.6. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Steven K.
