Add to the mix, Matt, a man who she has loved since they were in school together. He is coming to realize just how special Elise is and vice versa.
This is a wonderful, holiday romance with strong family support and friends. An enjoyable read.
Elise Clifton is back in Thunder Canyon for a family reunion-with her newly discovered parents. Now rumors are flying about the woman behind the town's hottest story and Matt Cates-the tall, dark, goregous cowboy who's making Elise long to turn the past into a future. with him.
Ever since he came home to Montana, Matt's been trying to live down his wild playboy reputation. And the moment he sees the petite blonde again, he doesn't have eyes for anyone else. Will Matt's love for Elise become the town's next big headline?
Thayne drew me in with hit of sorrow, a load of angst, and a drunken cowboy who takes things just far enough for a hero to be needed. Even better, right in the first scene the writing produced that familiar squeeze in my gut when the hero walked in on the scene. Personally, I am very fond of that squeeze.
Throughout the book Elise is an emotional mess, and Thayne nails the feeling of being misplaced in your own world. I did have a moment of frustration over the amount of tears Elise had to spill for us to get there, but over all well done.
The romance between Elise and Matt flowed well throughout the story, and Thayne provided several childhood memories that highlighted Matt's deep affection for Elise. That affection grew beautifully throughout the book. Matt is a guy who will lend you his shoulder whenever you need it, but push when he's had enough. I ended up with what I found to be a very sweet romance.Read more ›
